Are you kidding me? It was foolish Americans trying to change the rules by calling Johnson the World's Fastest Man that started that whole challenge. The World's Fastest Man has ALWAYS been the man with the world record in the 100M, but since it happened to be Bailey (a Canadian), there was a movement in the American media trying to anoint Johnson as something he wasn't.
So Bailey, being the true champion that he was, agreed to race Johnson in a 150m race...a 'middle' between the two races that they each specialized in. The race was actually then tailored to give Johnson an edge if anything, because it included a turn...which he is used to racing on, while Bailey had only raced straight lanes as a 100m sprinter.
If the race wasn't fair, it was more unfair to Bailey than it was to Johnson. That is not a 'Canadian' viewpoint, that's a cold, hard fact. Johnson got pwned....end of story.
