how much will it cost me to test my test levels? is it just bloodwork that i get done? i want to see where my hormones are at...

Check out www.lef.org for affordable blood testing. In some cases, insurance will cover all or many of the tests. If you need further help with blood testing, let me know.

can i just tell the doc i want the test? will he be willing to do this (and allow insurance to cover it)?

Well what I do is tell the doctor I want a complete physical with blood work. Also suggesting that I feel tired and lack libido<phrase this whatever way makes you feel comfortable> and I've read that low test levels can cause this, just to be sure the test levels are checked. My insurance always covers it, and I do it once a year.

If I'm not mistaken it can also be done online.

How long does this generally take to get back ? and also will the blood test itself cost money ?

Luckily in Canada, all bloodwork is usually free -- except getting Test levels checked -- you usually have to pay extra for that one.

DrJMW, I've got some questions about which tests I shoul be looking at. i'm 39 and I have been concerned about my thyroid function, CBC. PSA and test/free test. Is there anything else I should consider without breaking the bank? My insurance coverage is pretty poor.
