I know that I'm making turkey, whipped yams and apple crisp.

I can't decide anything else.

what are you making?

Defiantely turkey, probably some candied yams (yum!), mashed potatoes, a cherry pie and a pumpkin pie. That's all I have thought of so far.

All I really want is dessert anyway. :)

I'll be over in time for the apple crisp.

Hey to you it's Thanksgiving, but to me it's just Thursday.

I am stuck on the veggies too. Green beans maybe? Seems so pedestrian though....

Grilled Asparagus is fashionable but I think I will die if I eat one more stalk.

Really?

Thanksgiving is the only holiday I celebrate.

I love to feed people.

THen I'm waiting on those famous brownies of yours. I was supposed to moving in on your birthday, but I closed on my birthday and I will be moving into my new house Monday.

:)

That is how I feel...I eat so many damn green veggies throughout the week - why do I want more?

What else is there? Corn? Artichokes?

Mmmmmm Artichokes.

Corn season just ended by me - it was an ok year - season came too late.

Could always do a big salad with cucumbers, cherry tomatos, carrot shavings and roasted red peppers.

mmmm aritchokes.

Damn, forgot corn season was summer. We don't get much yummy corn in the dessert, so I boycott it now. :)

Funny, I was thinking the big fancy salad too. Think that's what I'll do.

I could eat a million artichokes though..... damn they are good. Dip in a little butter and some lemon...YUM

oh I just drooled.

Knorrs has this dill sause - I haven't had it in years - so good with artichokes.

As the 2 beautiful woman conversate with each, I have to go to bed sadly, but there will be another day.:)

Why do artichokes have to be so expensive? They are at least $2 for ONE out here....and WHO eats just one? I can eat like 5. :)

OK

So I'm making Turkey - roasted over carrots, celery and red potatoes.

Buying a honey baked ham
Mushrooms
Whipped sweet potatoes
Mashed Yukon potatoes
Roasted Asparagus
Spinach Gratin
Cranberry raseberry sauce
Apple walnut stuffing

and for dessert

Apple crisp
Pumpkin pie
Pecan pie

1 day prep & baking
1 day cooking

I want to deep fry a turkey this year. OTher than that.... not sure what we are gonna make.

Ouuuuuu

I bet that's good.

I've just mastered roasting - I can even handle the thought of screwing up a turkey this year with a new method.

Good Luck!

HUZZAH!

:D

MDD - I LOVE to cook.
I'm a better host than guest - I hate being a guest, I don't know what to do with myself.

A few have my friends have done the deep fried turkey thing. It's pretty easy and quick to do. The oil doesn't soak into the turkey and it cooks mighty quick.

The bonus is that I get that big frying pot and propane burner. Then I can make Hot Popcorn. That stuff rocks. As the oil for the popcorn is heating up, you put in some sliced Jalapeno peppers in there.... along with some Tony's seasoning... the stuff just coats the popcorn.

be carefull frying... definately have a co2 extinguisher on hand....

lots of fires start using them deep fryers, and if u use co2 and have to use the extinguisher u wont fuck up ur food

Good point. I'll have one nearby.

turkey & pan gravy
stuffing...and lots of it.
sweet mashed potatoes
regular mashed potatoes
cranberries
green beans

cranberry nut bread
pumpkin pie
chocolate pie

my favorite eating day of the year!!!

I'm going to the columbus inn and getting a rack of lamb. :)

I've done that. The first one I tried turned into charcoal. :bawling:

I got the oil too hot, and the inside never got done. :(

Now I buy them already cooked. :)

Just bring a bottle of wine and you're in.

I love turkey and the trytophan effect afterwards!! I really like green bean caserole, broccoli rice caserole, cranberries and mac & cheese. Desert is good, but I like the other stuff, and that trytophan knocks me out every year!!
