The best thing I've found I can do is, not do shrugs, there are better exercises that will make you stronger anyway, and also to work on developing your lower lats and traps (the wifey-ish was right on that one). Also, make sure you're stretching your chest enough. If I sit down and really concentrate on lengthening my muscles when I'm stretching my hamstrings, I can feel my lats, traps, and rhomboids getting a good stretch. Like 5 deep breaths per stretch, take a break, and do it over again maybe 3 times. All this shit's really worked, and you get a noice high feeling after you're done.
