Tetnis (sp) Shot...

Okay, I went to the doc on Friday...I was all good & my doc recommended to get a tetnis (sp) shot since it had been YEARS since I had one. So I thought, why not? Shots never bothered me so I was like no big deal. Well the nurse came in & the student teacher that was there when my doc was in w/ me... the student doc wanted to give it to me so I said fine. She kept asking the nurse "like this?" & I was like oh no, this broad doesn't even know how to do this! Well she did it & that was that...I said, never again will I let a student do anything.

On Saturday, my arm is sore. As a matter of fact it hurts & it's swollen! I have no clue why...has this ever happened to anyone?

Tetnis are one of the worst injections IMO..
Makes a Knot like thing in your arm. I get one every 2 years at work

And as for letting students work on you...
They have to learn somehow right ?

if you got your Td vaccine as a kid, you should only need a tetanus booster like every 8-10 years...

my friend is a nursing student, you should hear some of the stories he tells about learning to give people shots.. it's not pretty.

I hate getting shots period. Though tetnis shots always leave a big swollen knot that hurts for a few days so their especially bad.

LOL I hear you.. last year I was in a bad accident, & I kept going unconcious...they beat my arms so bad I woke up & looked at them like WTF is wrong with y'all!? I left the hospital w/ more bruises than I entered with!

You guys don't know what a painful shot is until you've had one of three hepatits vac. shots.

1st you feel the shot, then you feel the med. slowly going in which feels like another shot.

I don't mind the shot...it felt weird...a sting but nothing that I can't take... I like those shots you get at the dentist! LOL Feels pretty cool...& then the numbness is cool - feels like you're talking w/ your mouth sideways.

Last time I went to the dentist he tried to bury that needle in my jawbone. I just hear "oops" as the red flash of pain went across my vision.

The worst is when I had a student nurse trying to draw blood out of me andshe decided to try to get it from the veins in my hand. Any one with a little bit of nursing experience will tell you that the hand is the worst palce to try and draw blodd from becasue the veins move around a lot. I knew and some how let her keep poking away trying to catch my ever moving veins. After she had made a massacre out of my hand, another nurse came in and drew the blood the vein on my bi.
