According to Swale, you should begin PCT when the amount of gear being absorbed into your bloodstream falls below about 30mg/day. At this level you can regain some endogenous testosterone production and, of course, the exogenous testosterone absorption will continue to decline.
However, if you incorporate HCG into your PCT determining that 30mg/day cutoff point becomes unnecessary. Since HCG causes endogenous testosterone production, it will keep your serum testosterone level elevated as the injected gear works out of your system.
Thus, if you use 1,000IU of HCG M,W,F for 3 weeks after your last test-E shot, you will not lose gains during those 3 weeks because of the testosterone production stimulated by the HCG.
After those 3 weeks of HCG, you start SERM therapy with either nolvadex or clomid for another 3 weeks. Without the HCG, your serum testosterone level will dip. But if all goes according to plan, the SERM will help bring it back to normal by the end of those 3 weeks.
That's the best you can do! If you run a long cycle (over 12 weeks) and do not incorporate HCG into PCT, you can easily spend 7 weeks with a low serum testosterone level before it returns to normal; even with nolvadex or clomid.
