okay so im asking for a good friend of mine who doesnt have internet access. he just started his first cycle of test last week and didnt seem to have any problems immediatly but just 2 days ago he formed bruises on his elbow with alot of swelling, and liquid retention around the elbow. since he sticks in the shoulder i told him that i thought he either busted a blood vessel or may have an allergic reaction. anyone else have experience with this or know what it could be?

busted blood vessel? No sure why you thought that. Fluid retention is generally referred to as:Dependent edema: a clinically detectable increase in extracellular fluid volume localized in a dependent area, as of a limb, characterized by swelling or pitting.
Also, arthritis can cause swelling (which may look or feel like fluid).

Of course, tough to say without seeing it or since I’m not a doctor!

what kinda test is he shooting ? i shot test prop in my quad and it made my entire quad swell up and there was some swelling around the knee. but it eventually went away. maybe its the same situation

^^^where did you hear that from?

not too sure if you were speaking to me. However, if you are; it's not a matter of hearing it's a matter of experience. I have seen many ppl hurt there elbow and shoulder joints by not having a good solid base of lifting for a year or two before talking gear.

Going from benching 1 plate a side to 2 plates a side in 5-6 weeks can be very hard on joints that aren't used to the heavy load.
