Test C or E + Deca for HRT?

bblazer

Banned
I have been hearing from others who have been on HRT for awhile that at one point Dr.'s used a combination of Test E or C + Deca. I have two questions about that:

1) What led them to believe that this was a proper protocol?

2) When and why did this change to essentially just Test C or E?

Thanks,

There is no significant difference. Legit cyp was more common in the US while enanth was more common elsewhere.

My doctor can prescribe both and transdermals. I think he will let me use any of the 4:

Delatestryl® - Testosterone Enanthate
Depo®-Testosterone - Testosterone Cypionate
Androderm®
AndroGel®

I seem to remember reading Neslon Montana saying he prefers Enanthate but I am not sure the reason. Maybe he will chime in.

I guess I wasn't clear.

I am asking about the combo of Test and Deca, not the different esters of test.

Mine prescribes cyp for me.

In the past, it is my understanding that Deca sometimes was included with test as part of ann HRT protocol.

Deca has no place in a TRT protocol. Many many argue that deca has no place in an HRT protocol. The combination of test and deca is my idea of an ideal cycle.

If not mistaken, I think it's those "HRT / Life Extension Clinics" that started with these absurd regimens

That is where I am seeing from as well. Don't get me wrong, deca has it's place but to be on it forever as in TRT or HRT? That just does not make a lot of sense. The whole point of TRT and HRT to bring you levels back to normal / youthful levels. What is a normal level of deca?

Exactly.

Exactly. It's not about HRT. These clinics are just trying to cater to people who really just want to do cycles legally.

Thanks for the responses.

One of the things I stumbled across while reading about this was a report from Johns Hopkins where they suggested using Deca with test for HRT in men. IIRC the report was dated in the early 90's. I only saw it in print, and have been unable to find an online version.
