test base vs other tests

Testosterone base is pure testosterone, so yes; gram for gram it is superior in terms of bang for your buck. However, test base has such a short effective life that it is only used as a sole source of testosterone by the most serious, dedicated, and pain tolerant users.
All other testosterones have been converted into what is called an "ester", and are "esters of testosterone". All esters of testosterone have a longer effective life in the body than pure testosterone (AKA Testosterone base).
Think of testosterone base as an immediate release hormone, and all esters of testosterone as time-released testosterone. The duration of action of time-released testosterones varies for each individual ester. This is why you can inject one type once per week, whereas others must be injected every day or every other day. In the case of testosterone base, it must be injected multiple times per day.
To figure how much actual testosterone you are getting with a particular dosage of a particular ester of testosterone use this simple calculation:
Molecular weight of pure testosterone/molecular weight of the desired testosterone ester x 100.
This gives you the percentage of testosterone in the ester.
Now multiply this percentage by the desired dosage in mg, and you have the actual amount of testosterone you are taking.
For example:
Mw testosterone - 288.42
Mw test propionate - 344.49
Dosage - 50mg/day
288.42/344.49=.837 x 100 = 83.7%.
83.7% x 50mg per day = 41.86mg.
You can see that even though you are taking 50mg of testosterone propionate per day, you are actually only getting about 42mg of actual testosterone.

Test is test. It all comes down to half life....which determined how often you have to inject, how long it takes to reach peak concentration, and how long it takes to clear
In this case I think the OP needs to research a bit more. We all know that test base would not really be a logical choice for a cycle, especially since it looks like it would be a beginners cycle.
His question makes sense in theory, you technically will get more testosterone with base or shorter esters as one gram of powder will have less ester weight taking up that gram with the shorter esters. But like Rick says, its really only going to come down to his preference for pinning.
If you dont mind a suggestion....if your new to homebrewing try to start with enanthate. You can mix that at 250-300 mg/ml very easily, no BB needed and you are good to go.
