If I had to guess between the weapons...I'd say nuke as well.

Politicians are just go betweens between the intelligence community, military and the public. The tell us what they want us to hear and think we should know doing exactly what you said.

The problem lies in that they appropriate funds as they see fit for intel and have to much say in how it is used.
