Islamist sources in London say terror network al-Qaida is preparing "a large attack" against American targets that will coincide with the expected U.S. war against Iraq.
An Islamist website, the intelligence newsletter reports, predicts an imminent terror attack against the U.S.

A report in a Saudi paper said that a "London Islamist referred to an electronic message he received from Asia which calls for the glad tidings (Istibshar) of a forthcoming new operation by al-Qaida." The Islamist source said the operation could be against U.S. military forces in Afghanistan, the purpose being "to mess up" American plans and to "incite Islamists everywhere to carry out suicide activities against the Americans at the outbreak of the war against Iraq."
As WorldNetDaily reported, the website published a religious exhortation more than a week ago claiming that "the train of death is on its way" within 10 days, and "nothing will stop its riders." The author, who used the moniker "The Prince of Philosophy," claimed that the attack is imminent and only an order from a commander is needed before it is carried out.
Two pictures of Osama bin Laden were posted with the exhortation – one with an image of the World Trade Center in flames – hinting of a possible connection to bin Laden's al-Qaida network, G2 Bulletin reports.

The writer said it is a "little more than 10 (days) or less until we hear the cry announcing to us the good tidings of Allah's victory (coming) by the hands of our brethren, the jihad fighters. This is a serious matter and not a joke."
But there is another possible meaning to the warning of "10 days," reports G2 Bulletin. Some analysts believe that the "little more than 10 or less" is disinformation, but still a code for the attack date. It could be referring, they say, to the Muslim holy day of Ashura, Musharran 10, which, this year, is March 14 – Friday.
G2B military sources believe the optimal time for a military attack on Iraq begins the next day – Saturday, March 15.

Ashura is celebrated on the ninth and tenth month of Muharram. The word ashura means "ten" and is a time of fasting, reflection and meditation. Jews of the city of Medina fasted on the tenth day in remembrance of their salvation from the Pharaoh, and the Prophet Muhammad pledged he would fast for two days instead of one in this same remembrance, but he died the following year and so never fasted as he had hoped.
For many Muslims there is joy in commemorating all of the wonderful events traditions say occurred on this day, including: Noah's ark came to rest, the Prophet Abraham was born, the Kaaba was built. Among Shiite Muslims, it is a day of special sorrow commemorating the martyrdom of the Prophet's grandson Hussain and his followers at the battle of Kerbala in Islam's first century. It is commemorated in Shiite communities with reenactment of these events and is a time of mourning.
