Terrel Davis really retiring for good?

I can't believe it. It totally sucks that a very good running back such as himself has to retire because of bum knees. I enjoyed watching him play and I hope I see him on ESPN doing NFL pregame shows. He was a nice guy too. He bought all his team mates Rolex Watches when he got his big contract.

Hall of Famer, YES OR NO?

as much as i hate to say it no...

people toss gayle sayers around as the measuring stick for a great back cut down by injury, but, sayers doesn't apply. Gayle was the Bears, he was brilliant and surrounded by mediocre talent. Davis was the product of a chop blocking line whose tactics have since been made illegal. He was one hell of a system back...

i think bettis and waters (former college teammates) are the real question marks... i doubt watters, but i think the bus has a chance if he can get two more good years outta those tires...

i have to diagree i dont feel terrell was nothing but good blocking,in my books he was a very talented player, whether or not he makes it to the hall im not sure but stranger things have happened.

JUICE

HE HAD TO BE A LITTLE MORE THAN A GOOD BLOCKER TO RUSH FOR MORE THAN 2K YARDS.

AS FOR THE HALL OF FAME: I DOUBT HE WILL MAKE IT. REALLY, HE ONLY PLAYED 4 YEARS IF YOU DONT COUNT HIS LAST TWO INJURY YEARS WHICH HE ONLY PLAYED 12 OR 13 GAMES COMBINED.

HE PROBABLY NEEDED A FEW MORE GOOD YEARS TO MAKE THE HALL. HE DOES, HOWEVER OWN 56 BRONCO RECORDS. NOT TO MENTION THE GUY IS A CLASS ACT COMPARED TO MOST NFL PLAYERS.

Hall of Fame...eventually he will get in even though the popular sentiment is that he isn't in the same class as a Sayers, etc. If you look at the type of Running back that is now proliferating the league then you will see a bunch of carbon copies of TD. Yet no one is really looking at that fact.

WODIN

THERE IS NO WAY HE WILL MAKE CANTON WITH ONLY HIS TWO GOOD SEASONS UNDER HIS BELT. THATS NOT SAYING HE ISNT CANTON MATERIAL B/C WE ALL KNOW HE IS.

THERE ARE LOTS OF OTHER PLAYERS WHO DESERVE THE HALL BEFORE TD DUE TO LOTS OF GOOD SEASONS UNDER THEIR BELTS (I.E....ART MONK AND KENNY STABLER)

KAYNE

Not arguing that kayne...I do see it as a "Long time coming" kind of thing where he will get in probably 10 years from now. Art Monk and the Snake are LONG OVER DUE. For real.

DURING THE WHOLE OJ SIMPSON THING, I FOUND OUT THAT WHEN YOU MAKE THE HALL, YOU GET PAID 25K PER MONTH. DAMN, THATS A LOT OF MONEY. AND THE GOOD PART ABOUT IT FOR OJ IS THAT IT CANT BE TOUCHED IN THE JUDGEMENT AGAINST HIM FROM THE LAWSUIT.

THATS HOW HE AFFORDS THAT BIG ASS HOUSE IN BOCA RATON (???) FLORIDA.

KAYNE

No shit...25K a month! Fuck how is that funded?

did someone say ricky watters would NOT get in the hall? how could he not? he has playoff records, a championship, and a track record better than any running back to play for 3 teams.... no matter where he was, whether the niners playoff teams (and superbowl team) or the eagles... he made them better... he ran and caught the ball with the best of them... even in seattle as he was being challenged by green and then alexander, he held his own and kept some awesome talent off the field until injuries caught up to him...

ricky will be in the hall

TD had more than 2 good years but PROBABLY not enough for the hall... it took the steelers a hell of a long time to get swann and stalworth in the hall... so even 10 years is too soon.

Hmmm....Do you REALLY think that Terrel Davis is done for good?!?

I just can't see it happening.... I think that he will be back by next season.

I agree with toga22. I believe that TD will come back eventually. He probably made his decision with persuasion from his doctor, family and friends. He's too good of a player to call it quits so soon.

Sad night in Denver last night. But at the same time it was time for him to go. He was not getting better it it didnt make sense anymore. The Broncos worked it with class and gave him 3 years to come back.

Portis looked really good though and with Mike anderson blocking, who knows?

The fact that Art Monk isn't in the Hall is a shame.

TD won't get in. The Hall should look at longevity and production. TD has the latter but not the former. If TD should get in, so should Billy Sims whose career was cut short for the same reason.

art monk.... good stats and i'm sure you can make an arguement for him to be in the hall but i also think you could make an arguement against him as well.
