TerpVTX's N2Burn Log

terpvtx

New member
I received my sample bottle of N2Burn this morning and have already taken my first dose. A little about me. I am 42 years old, 6'1", 192 lbs. I just recently completed a bulk cycle and, according to the calpers, I am at 13% BF.

For the past six months, my workouts were based on a 5 day split of a power/hypertrophy routine. Three weeks ago, I switched to a 5x5 routine to give my joints a break. I will be lifting M-W-F and performing 30-40 minutes of cardio on T, Thurs and Sat.

My calorie breakdown during the one-month log will be 3,000 calories (40% protein, 30% carbs, 30% fat) on workout days, and 2,800 (50%,20%, 30%) on cardio days.

My goal is to get my BF percentage down to 8%.

Wish me luck.

For those interested, here are my meals for today:

Preworkout - 2 scoops Whey to build muscle plus creatine & Glutamine

Intraworkout - 2 scoops Core ABCs

Postworkout/breakfast:
2 whole eggs/6 egg whites
2 slices Ezekiel Bread
1.5 tablespoons natural peanut butter
1 nectarine

Mid-Morning Snack - 2 scoops Myofusion

Lunch
9 oz. grilled chicken breast
1 cup brown rice

Afternoon Meal:
6 oz. pork tenderloin
1 cup brown rice

Dinner
2/3 pound ground turkey
1 cup broccoli

Here is my workout from yesterday. I work out first thing in the morning, but did not have time to post this yesterday. I have a gym setup at home, although some of the free weights come in unusual increments. As a result, some of the numbers (increments) below may seem a bit unusual. Also, I came off of a high volume 5 split and the standard 5x5 just isn't enough volume for me. As a result, I have also added some additional supplemental exercises to my routine.

Squats (5x5)
135 x 10 (wu)
223 x 10 (wu)
289 x 5
289 x 5

Subbed. Love the diet and dedication. I am REALLY thinking of ordering my 1st fat burner.
I am at 6'1 205 lbs right now and lost my abs after getting lazy and taking off a part of summer with a wrist injury.

Im ready to get back at it as well. Goodluck on your journey!

Thanks IncredibleHoss and Stevesmi. This morning I did the following ab work:

Hanging leg raises 3x25
Revise Decline leg raises 3x25
Decline Situps with 35 lbs 3x30

I then ran 3.2 miles at a moderate pace. I normally try and do HIIT style cardio (sprints or jump roping) but like to get in a run a week to keep endurance up.

Meals today were/are (still have dinner to go)

Preworkout - 1 scoop Whey to Build Musle plus glutamine
Postworkout - 1 scoop Whey to Build Muscle, 1/2 scoop Karbolyn plus creatine & glutamine
Breakfast - 3 whole eggs/4 egg whites, 2 slices Ezekiel Bread, 1.5 tablespoons olive oil
Snack - 1 cup 1% cottage cheese plus 1 scoop Myfusion protein
lunch - 9 oz. chicken breast plus 2/3 cup brown rice
afternoon snack - 7 oz. pork tenderloin plus 2/3 cup brown rice
dinner - 2/3 pound ground turkey plus 1 cup broccoli

total calories 2,842, fat (87), carbs (150) protein (363). Weight after breakfast was 188.5. Most likely loss of water weight, but will check again tonight when I get home.

Weighed in last night at 188.4. Performed the following workout this morning:

Squats 5x5 @ 251 lbs
Deadlift 5x5 @ 311 lbs
Standing Overhead Press 5x5 @ 135 (this is a new movement for me (usually do seated) so I am going slow with the weight until I get the form down)
Weighted Chins 5x5 plus 27.5 lbs
Incline Press 10 @ 135
10 @ 175
6 @ 225

Ran out of time today or would have worked in two more sets of Incline along with a couple sets of rear shrugs. Weight this morning was 187.8.

One thing I have noted with N2Burn is that I am running hot since going on it. I have been sleeping about the covers and I am sitting in my air conditioned office this afternoon sweating through my shirt.

Meals today are as follows:

Preworkout - 2 scoops Whey to build muscle plus creatine, Glutamine & taurine
Intra - Core ABCs
Breakfast - 1 cup egg whites plus 1 whole egg, 1 whole wheat english muffin, 1 cup strawberries.
Mid-morning meal - 1.5 cups brown rice plus 4 oz pork tenderloin and 4 oz chicken breast
Lunch - 1.5 cups brown rice plus 9 oz. chicken breast
mid-day snack - 2 scoops Myofusion
Dinner - 2 cups mixed greens plus 1 can tuna fish.

3,007 calories, 88 fat, 222 carbs, 350 protein

Yesterday (9/29/11) I weighed in at 186.7. This an hour and a half after cardio and breakfast, so some loss of water weight there I am sure, but I clearly am losing weight on this diet wih the N2Burn. My abs are becoming more and more defined.

Yesterday's workout consisted of the following:

reverse incline crunches 3x20
decline russian twists with 8 lb medicine ball 3x20
decline crunch with 8 lb medicine ball 3x20
ab wheel roll-outs 3x20

Cardio was HIIT style 15 100 yard sprints with jog/fast walk in between.

Diet: 2833 calories, 79 g fat, 170 carbs, 360 protein

Friday my workout was as follows:

Squats 223x5, 245x5, 267x5, 278x5, 289x5, 311x5
Bench Press 5x5 at 245
Incline flyes 12x45, 10x60, 10x60
BB Rows 5x5 at 200
DB Shoulder Press 40x10, 45x10, 50x10, 60x10, 60x13

3,043 calories, 95 fat, 215 carbs, 349 protein

Evening weight 187.9, so over the 5 day period it looks as though I have lost a little over 4 lbs.

I slipped a bit over the weekend with my diet. Weekends are always my crutch as I have two boys 11 & 8 and spend the weekend running from one sporting event to the next, and just grabbing something to fast to eat when we can. I decided to go back to my old power/hypertrophy routine instead of the 5x5 routine I had been doing. Yesterday's workout was as follows:

Bench press 5x5 @ 250.5 lbs
dips 10@ 45lbs, 10 @ 67lbs, 10 @ 78 lbs, 8 @ 78 lbs
BB Rows 5x5 @ 210 lbs
Weighted Pull-ups 33lbs x 10, 33lbs x 8, 33lbs x 5
Seated BB Press 5x5 @ 157 lbs
Rear Shrugs 177lbs x 10, 199 lbs x 10, 210 lbs x 10
DB curls 35 lbs x 10, 40 lbs x 10, 45 lbs x 8
Deadlift Skullcrushers 86 lbs x 10, 97 lbs x 8, 108 lbs x 8

I weighed in yesterday at 188.5 lbs. As far as the noticeable effects of N2Burn, I will echo what others have said here. I take two pills first thing in the morning (4 am) and two pills before lunch. I notice an increase in energy after taking the pills, however, there is no hard crash later in the day. I also notice that my body termperature seems to run warmer on N2Burn as I sweat a lot more. So far I am enjoying N2Burn.

Leg day yesterday.

Squats 5x245, 5x267, 5x278, 5x289, 5x311
Leg Ext 15x128.5, 15x134, 15x139.5, 15x145
Romanian Deadlifts 5x199, 5x223, 5x245, 5x256, 5x261.5
Leg Curls 15x45, 15x50.5, 10x56, 8x61.5
Calf raises 5x10 @ 223

3,162 calories, 82 fat, 222 carbs, 369 protein

Weighted in at 188.1 lbs. My calories have been up a little higher than I had planned and need to do a better job of sticking to the plan. With that said, while I am only down 3.9 lbs a week and a half into this bottle of N2Burn, I do seem to have actually slimmed down some. Because my calory intake is not significantly lower than maintenance levels, this may be having more of a recomp effect on me, which is fine with me. I really don't want too lose too much weight, jus interested in tightening up the lower four pack.

Things have been very busy at work, so I was not able to post the last two days. Yesterday, I got in the following workout:

Deadlift 223x5; 267 x 5; 289 x , 311 x 5; 333 x 5
Reverse Grip BB Rows 133 x 10; 177 x 10; 199 x 8; 215.5 x 8
Stiff-leg Deadlift 133 x 10; 144 x 10; 155 x 10; 177 x 10
Pullthroughs 25 band x 15 x 3 supersetted with pull-ups 3x15,12, 8
DB Reverse Lunge 35x10; 40x10; 45x10; 45x10; supersetted with EZ bar pullovers 64x12; 75x12, 86x12, 86x10

calories were 3,052 calories, 72 fat, 262 carbs, 339 protein

Most days I can pack my food for work, but the last few days I have had lunch meetings which has thrown everything off. As a result, my carb intake has been higher than I would have liked. Also, I have kept my total calorie intake higher than what you would typically see for a cut, out of fear of losing too much muscle during the process. With the higher calorie intake (right near maintenance level for me) this is more of a recomp than a true cut.

As for the N2Burn, I continue to experience good, clean energy with this product. My body temp is definitely higher while using this product, and as a result, I am sweating a lot more. One thing I have not noticed with this product is any decrease in apetite. I am still hungry all the time.

I had a minor medical procedure yesterday, nothing major, but was not able to get my normal Monday workout in. However, thanks to the N2Burn and a slightly restricted diet, I am now down to 185 lbs. That is a little over 7 lbs in 2 weeks. Not bad considering that my diet is just shy of maintenance level as I do not want to lose much in the way of muscle mass.

Tuesday's workout was leg day.

Squats 245x5, 267x5, 289x5, 311x5, 327.5 x 5
Leg Ext. 90x25, 145x13, 150.5x13, 156x13
Romanian Deadlifts 199x5, 223x5, 245x5, 256x5, 267x5
Leg Curls 45x15, 56x13, 61.5x10, 67x6
Seated Calf Raise with DB 60x20, 60x20, 60x30

Diet was 2,848 cal, 52 fat, 245 carb, 350 protein

Weight, 185.4 lbs

Still holding at 185 lbs. Yesterday was cardio day: 40 minutes with the jump rope (hard rain yesterday, so opted not to run), then abs: hanging leg raise (3x25), decline russian twist with 8lb medicine ball (3x15), decline crunch with 8lb medicine ball (3x20), decline situps with 35 lb plate (2x25). Diet was 2,870 cal, 78 fat, 180 carb, 362 protein.

Well, I was not as disciplined over the weekend and I am not back up to 188 lbs. This morning's workout was as follows:

Squats 3x3 at 333lbs, 1x12 at 245 lbs.
Bench Press 3x3 at 278 lbs, 1x12 at 234 lbs
Reverse Grip Rows 3x3 at 234 lbs, 1x10 at 210 lbs
romanian deadlifts 3x3 at 278 lbs, 1x10 at 223 lbs
decline situps 2x30 at 33 lbs.

One meal to go, but target calories are 2,553 cal., 63 fat, 142 carbs, 332 protein.

I am in my last week of N2Burn. So far I will give it a big plus for energy, plus I am definitely running at a higher temperature and sweating a lot more. One thing I have not noticed is any appetite supression. I am hungry all the time.

Amazing log bro! Like damn good!!! Keep up the good work bro and keep them progress coming

Weight holding at 187 lbs this morning. Wednesday's workout was as follows:

Deadlift 135x10; 223x5, 289x2, 323x3, 323x3, 323x3
Incline Bench 135x10,179x5,201x3, 228.5x3, 228.5x3, 228.5x3, 210x8
Squat 135x10, 179x5, 223x3, 289x3, 289x3, 289x3, 223x12
Single Arm DB Lat Raises 20x14, 25x12, 30x8
Weighted Pull-Ups 33lbs x 8, 33lbs x 8, 33 lbs x 6
Decline Situps with weight 33 lbs x 25, 45 lbs x 25, 45lbs x 25.

I normally would have performed an overhead press or db press for shoulders yesterday, but I have been experiencing some pain in my left delt/bicep. It is where the front delt comes in contact with the bicep. Hopefully just a strain, but decided to take it easy on shoulders today. I felt it early on during my incline bench press, but it got better as I went along. Just didn't want to push it.

Calories for Wednesday were 3,048 total, 86 fat, 195 carbs, 376 protein

Today's workout was cardio. A 3.2 mile run and then an ab circuit routine. Still popping 2 N2Burn first thing in the morning and then 2 more before lunch. I have two more days left of the N2Burn and then I will post my final results.

I missed a few days of posting, but kept with my workouts and cardio. I finished my last tabs of N2Burn on Saturday. My final weigh-in was 187 lbs, so over the course of a month on N2Burn I lost a little over 5 pounds. Not that impressive, but this was mostly due, I believe to my diet. I kept with the calorie ratios that I established in the beginning (3,000 for lifting days, 2,800 for cardio), but I calculated my BMR to be just shy of 3,100, so the calorie deficit was not that substantial. I did, however, add 2 more cardio sessions a week.

In the end, I think what really screwed me up was playing around with my pre and post workout nutrition. I workout first thing in the morning and normally have a protein shake prior to my workout and then a high protein/high carb breakfast within 45 minutes following my workout. Lately I have added carbs to my preworkout shake and then another carb/protein shake immediately after, followed 45 minutes later by breakfast. While the total carb intake for the day did not change significantly, holding down my weight became more of a battle. So much for trying something new. In the end I lost 5 lbs, and my BF percentage stayed pretty much the same at 13%.

This morning was my first lifting session since finishing up N2Burn and there were two things I noticed. One is that I did not have the same burst of energy that I did while on N2Burn. The second is that I did not sweat as much during the workout. I definitely noticed a higher body temperature while on N2Burn, often finding myself sleeping above the covers at night because of it. The energy from N2Burn is also very noticeable. All in all, I will say that N2Burn did exactly what it said it would. I would definitely look to use N2Burn again next time I plan on doing a more serious cut to lose weight.
