Tendonitits

I'm 2 weeks into my first cycle of Test E and Anavar. Inititally, I had only intended to run 250mg/week of the test because it's my first time, but I quickly decided to up it to 500mg/week based on the advice from many of you here. Also, I dediced to take the Anavar at the beginning rather than the end of my cycle at 50mg/day. The last few days, I've noticed some serious pain in my left elbow which my Dr. diagnosed as tendonitis (tennis elbow). WTF? Can this be attributed to the steroids? My training hasn't changed and my diet hasn't changed much either. Any thoughts?

I had the same thing without juice. It may be a result of lifting heavier weights. Are you doing any nose breakers for triceps?

Yeah, always. Those and close grip bench. I'm not going crazy with the amount of weight or anything. The weird thing is that it's affected my grip a little. I have to rely on straps for deadlifts and I can't do upright rows or dumbell laterals at all. My doc told me to take it easy for a few days. It's not so painful that I can't lift, I'm just concerned about doing any real damage.

I would listen to him if you don't take it easy it can progress to a major problem. That only surgery will fix. I had the surgery two years ago. Works good glad I had it. What I found thru rehab is that nose breakers and lateral raises, or any lift were palms are facing down really puts a lot of strain on the elbow. so watch those or replace them with something else till pain goes away.

Wow, I have the exact same thing right now in my Right, and the funny thing is all I could think of that could have done it was "Skull Crushers" (Nose Breakers, same thing) is this what the deal is??? Shit Hurts like hell, Screwing me up in the Gym and on top of this I just started my cycle 2 days ago, and I obviously dont want it to fuck my training up... How can I fix this, or will it just go away??? I cant stay out of the gym, if thats the case I will just deal with the pain. Let me ask you this. put you arm in a 90 degree angle and twist your wrist clockwise, Feel that??? Is that the same thing?? In between the 2 bone lumps in the elbow, that tendon in there?? Shit Kills!!!

Agree 1000%. I've had craploads of tendonitis since the early 90s. Particularly exercises such as skull crushers where your elbows are sort of free standing and have to support themselves. I do the ice thing as well is use MSM. I can't say glucosamine / chondroitin has made a difference but MSM definitely has.

Generally I'd stay off your arms for a few days at least - I've had my tendonitis flare up and then throb just while I'm sitting at my desk doing nothing in particular. YOu can take an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofin as well. Then explore some changes to your routine so you aren't hitting it w/ the exercises that aggravate it more. Its not like you ever get it "fixed" but you can work with / around.

Icing it has helped a lot and they gave me this weird, padded strap thing to put on just below my elbow. Believe it or not, that's helped more than anything. I haven't noticed any pain today, so I guess I'll just take it easy for the rest of the week, take the weekend off, and start back up on Monday. Hopefully I'll be able to resume my normal training by then.

I used the elbow strap as well it will eliviate the pain by making diferent muscles work. The bad thing about the Tendonitits is that it takes so much rest to recover from. Most of us can't give up the lifting. Just change the way you train its better than time off!! Or waiting six months to recover from surgery.

Yeah, like I said, it's not too bad yet so I think if I just take it easy until Monday, I'll be fine. I'll probably do legs today, back tomorrow, then just rest everything until Monday afternoon.
