First, hi from your newest platinum member.
Anyway, after 2 days of Internet Explorer crashing with a critical error on the secure sign up page, I finally found and fixed the problem after 8 hours of research. Just to possibly save another bro some time I will share my findings.
I keep a meticulously clean computer and avoid spyware/downloads/scripts/BS like the plague. Somehow one of these chickenshit companies named EZnav managed to install something on my computer. The program did appear in the add/remove programs in windows (xp pro), but uninstalling it did not do the trick. After running ad-aware se with the latest update the registry keys were found and deleted, and your humble author was able to finally sign up for platinum.
Please note: this crash was happening on occasion elsewhere on the net, usually associated with searches and other activeX type controls. It yields no meaningful error message within windows system management other than a fault in an unknown module.
With a degree in computer science and 3 years working professionally, I am still baffled as to how these lowlifes managed to get this program on my machine. SO, if anyone else is having this problem, try the steps I did and you should be ok...save yourself the time of decompiling windows resources to find faulting modules by offset.
