Anyone ever do this sort of thing and if so what was your experience/advice? Know anyone that did?

Nangargles? Any input?

Im digging Belize because of:
2 Belize dollars = 1 US dollar, this rate is static and set.
Low Taxes.
Dual citizenship.
Promotion of foreign ownership. (Beachfront property is dirt cheap in many areas.)
English is official language (probably not in practicality but still means nice towards us gringos)
Very long caribbean coastline.
Cheap beachfront living.
Low population density.
Improving infrastructure and transportation systems.

I dont know much of Belize because those fuckers never like to be "part" of anything.... they are like France/Canada of central america, never around never have an opinion, never in treaties just too low profile for my taste.... stuck up bitches... :D

Been checking out Belize, huh? ;) Remember there's no tax on wealth you already possess when you move there and anything you earn after moving there is taxed at only 13%. And that's total taxes.

Don't even think about living anywhere but Belize City though. Once you get beyond the capital dude it's 3rd world straight up. Infrastructure like poop.

If English is the first language how are you going to teach it as a second language?

Its only the official language on paper. In reality they speak spanish/creole, etc. and Im sure are in need of well qualified ESL teachers.

Yea I was definetely keeping that in mind. Im willing to sacrifice certain American conveniences but electricity and plumbing isnt one of them.

Would I have to give up US citizenship to get the no tax on wealth I already have while living in Belize? I dont want to give up US citizenship if possible, just in case i change my mind about the whole thing and move back.

unless you are willing to sacrifice wiping your butt you should bring your own toilet paper. It's like gold in 3rd world countries.

a friend of mine used to teach english as a second language at a local community college...it made him insane

the end

first of all, all those english teaching programs overseas they throw you in the sticks.

if you teach in S. Korea or Japan, you're not going to Seoul or Tokyo...you're gonna get thrown out in rice patty country with 75th's relatives.

my brother has done it and my friend who gave me her cat is also doing it. you're far as fuck from civilization

don't take the malaria pills...take your chances with the malaria

ooh wow don't know for sure, but wouldn't think they'd require you to expatriate that get that tax deal. They just want your residence and your spending power, and aren't likely to be so demanding to get that.

Don't lump us with France.
We're the ones that cover your ass.
