Tapering

there is debate about this.

One side argues that being shut off is being shut off, whether it be from 200 mgs of gear a week or 2000 mgs of gear a week.

While others argue that ramping down for a period eases the crash and is a smoother ride especially regarding Estrogen Rebound

To be sure there are scientific reasons to support and refute both sides, ultimately smart PCT with the use of HCG at the appropriate time will most likely assure success for both "strategies"

I would be so bold to say 6 years ago every vet on this board tapered, up and down. THen I left the scene and came back and noone tapers anymore. I wasn't around for the big philosophy change but sounds like omega nailed it ^^^^

Call me old school but I think its a good idea to taper off a cycle.. I'm not a medical wizard but it just seems to make more sense to taper off rather than go cold turkey off a gram or so of gear..

Well said. Reason I mention it is because I know some one who went to an endo doc for low test levels after a cycle and pct. The doc hit him with a run of small doses of test then slowly tapering him off. His test levels are now back to normal.

on a related note to this... Ive kinda been debating going to the doc after coming off cycle while my nat. test is suppressed to see if I can get a script from a doc at least for a short time period. How long should I wait post cycle before goin and seein the doc?

I just dont wanna go and be like, "Doc, i feel lethargic, i have no energy or sex drive and it just seems like over the last 6 months its gotten worse", and have him run blood tests and be like "well, what is this Deca doing in your system?" lol

For the most part, tapering is based on flawed logic. It can, however, be useful for some people. Mostly, it's idiotic, as I see it done (and for the reasons I see it done).

For years i tapered up and down for cycles but now would not waste my time as i use PCT.

By using Clomid then tapering will ensure that you have used less total steroid intake over the same period of time and IMHO not assist. iThats said it does no harm but also IMHO no benefit.

It is my own belief that years ago when we were doing cycles before PCt meds such as clomid were used or even known about then it was the tapering that acted as a type of PCT. Now we have that knowlegde and access then no need to taper

I'm on HRT so I have to taper down . I cruise at 150mg Test E/wk off cycle. But even then I notice a little crash. Just not nearly as severe. HRT/TRT is the only good thing about being over 50. I would tell any, if not ALL , of you to do HRT at 45 +. It doesn't make you 25 again, but allows you to look and feel a lot younger.

This is just my own guess. But, I think a lot of people get it wrong. It's not going to do you any good to taper down to 200 mg test and then quit. That 200 mg is still as much or more than you would be putting out naturally at your peak. I think what needs to be done is: #1) Stay on "reasonable amounts" during cycle if possible. 2) when you go to taper start tapering somewhere at 200 mg and go down from there. In fact, I wish I had D-bol just for tapering. If immediately after your main cycle you did 10 mg. dbol in the morning and 5 in the afternoon and then after a couple weeks you went down to 5mg. in the morning, 5mg. in the afternoon, and then later down to 5 in the morning etc.. you get the picture. I think that is the best. The levels of hormone introduced and the short half life gives your body, at a certain point, the time to recognize that levels are dropping and begin to kick in natural production while still having the anabolic benifits of having something in your system to help you train and build muscle.

When I have done this I noticed NO crash, NO loss of muscle to speak of. I went to the extent that I was taking 1 half of a 5mg. dbol every morning. Sounds crazy, but I've never had a smoother transition. It's a little harder to do with anything else because dbol has such a short half-life it give you lots of time throughout the day and night to be "on your own." It won't help you recover "faster" because of the time it takes for your body to adjust will be the same or slightly longer with this method. But, it makes for a very smooth transition while minimizing loss of muscle.
