Tanning

Bamboo said:

LOL

Did you like the results from it?

Yeah I was very pleased with it. It is the only lotion that I have used though. It doesn't have an "tingle factor" like a lot do now, but I got a lot darker after using it for a few weeks.

Bamboo: A bronzer puts a sort of "fake" tan on you. A good quality heavy bronzer seems to fit me ok though, I don't mind. You just need to wash your hands very well afterwards though.

As far as the tingle...it really doesn't do anything. They just happen to put the tingle ingredients into better quality lotions...the lotion is better because it is better quality...not because of the tingle.

Use a good lotion...always.

I don't like the Austrailian Gold product. I've been to their warehouse, bought their beds and lotion...and I really think that their lotion is something that you get what you pay for. Their stuff is cheap and it is made that way. They make their Sweedish Beauty (yes, made by the same company as AG) with good quality...but you pay a lot more for them.

I have never used a high intensity bed (not cost efficient in a salon IMO) so I can't comment on them.

Causing cancer...there is not enough solid proof of that claim. Remember, moderation is key, moderation is key.

Australian gold has a new line of products that are high quality tho... the glaze products are all good...

I didn't care too much for the glaze either...but they are a vast improvement over their regular line. They are a pretty good product but I think that they are fairly expensive in price. Can't really remember.

Austrailian Gold and California Tan both set their markets towards the consumer who wants to just have a lotion. They want to pay $5 for a bottle of lotion and get supreme results. They do very well from this because most people are uninformed tanners. I still feel that you get what you pay for...

I did feel like I was being screwed where I tanned in Chattanooga. I would go the full time (and expensive as can be) and only get a little sun. Where I live, and used to work, I only tan 1/2 of the allotted time and get TONS of sun. The lamps that they use DO make a difference!!!

I do not recommend bed or suntanning at all... I definitely saw some skin damage/aging that thankfully is pretty much gone and easily repaired with a ton of shit, but I only use a sunless spray spa tanning booth now, I like it better, it's quicker, you're tan in 1 visit.

You will likely have skin problems if you consistently burn. I used to go to the tanning bed every day (Monday - Friday) but only for 5-10 minutes in a 20 minute bed. I never burned but would get nice and tan. Once I got the tan that I wanted I would go 1-2x per week.

If you can get a base tan from the tanning bed and it helps you NOT to burn outdoors, then it is serving your purpose. You just don't need to ever burn.

I like the tanning salons that sell you a package that works on "minutes" not sessions. If I want to go 7 minutes in a 20 minute bed...I can. I can also increase by 1 minute every time I go to the tanning bed. I can increase my resistance slowly...

Just avoid the burn, tan slowly and smartly. Drink lots of water and use lots of lotion and use it often.
