tanning pills

gotgear?

New member
has anyone used trioxsalen or any other tanning pills? i am one of the unfortunate people who can not tan, i burn. i've done research on trioxsalen and found dosage requirements, but no tanning instructions.

I used trisoralen a while ago. If I remember correctly, you are supposed to take one tab 2 hours before exposure to the sun.

I have used some stuff that works pretty damn good. Try Canthaxanthin. It is an organic coloring. You definately want to hit the tanning bed when you take these because if you don't you might look a little orange, but they work great when you tan.

but how long do you stay in the tanning bed? i dont want to get fried. how many times a week do you take it? can i tan in between the days i take the pills? once i reach my tan i want do i have to keep taking the pills at a lower dosage to keep my tan?

I've used oxsoralen (trisoralen) for quite some time now. Here are the instructions:

Make sure you wear sunglasses on the days you use oxsoralen as your eyes are very prone to UV damage while using this drug.

Take a dose (maybe 15-20mg each time for your first cycle) 2 hours before you use the sunbed. Do about ten sessions with this dosage and then take a full month off before you repeat.

Do not tan on your days off for the simple reason that you want as much UV exposure as you can get while the trisoralen is in your system. If you tan on your days off then you lower the amount of time you can sebsequently sunbed for before you start to burn.

You should use a sunbed for several weeks before you try triosoralen to see what your tolerance is. You'd need to reduce this time a little when on oxsoralen otherwise you may burn as the drug ehances your skin's sensitivity.

Your first use of oxsoralen is like a virgin cycle on steroids - subsequent uses won't be nearly as effective.

Stay away from the canthaxanthin. It dyes your internal organs and the fat under your skin orange. It has health risks which I don't think are justifiable for the sake of a tan.

You don't need to keep taking the pills to retain your tan, but you do need to use a sunbed regularly otherwise your tan will fade.

I have never had a tan in my life until a year ago - I always just burned when exposed to UV. The oxsoralen created a base tan which I have been able to built on. If you are fair skinned I definitely recommend it.

I've been thinking about using this myself. Did it give you a good brown or was there a orangish tint?

nope, it's a natural tan. The oxsoralen stimulates your skin's own natural pigment.

try every second day at first. If you tan daily then halve the dose. I vary my intake now. I have tried daily, even every third day. See what works for you.

yes it is toxic, hence the reason for taking a full month off between cycles.

Best of luck.

Trisoralen can cause serious medical problems--The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of trioxsalen. Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems, especially:

Allergy to sunlight (family history of) or
Lupus erythematosus or
Porphyria or
Other conditions that make you more sensitive to light--This medicine will make the condition worse
Eye problems, such as cataracts or loss of the lens of the eyes--Use of this medicine may make your cataracts or other eye problems worse; having no lens in your eye may increase the side effects of this medicine
Heart or blood vessel disease (severe)--The heat from the light treatment may make the condition worse
Infection or
Stomach problems--Use of this medicine may make the condition worse
Melanoma or other skin cancer (history of) or
Recent treatment with x-rays or cancer medicines or plans to have x-rays in the near future--May increase your chance of skin cancer
