Taking steroids after Knee surgery?

I need some info about doing a cycle after my knee surgery to help recover and build more muscle around the area to help. I'm getting my ACL repaired in my right knee next week. I was going to start my next cycle after surgery but some have told me that it will actually impair the healing process. How true is this?

Thanks,
Rob

OK OK I've waited for this opportunity since I've been on the board! I've tore my ACL 2 times playing b-ball over the past 4 years...only had 1 sugery...thank god (first time it was only partially tore). Anyway, yes muscle growth is ESSENTIAL to getting back into the shape you were before you had the injury. I'm not sure if you should do it RIGHT after surgery...I did my first cycle about 6 months after surgery. It DEFINATELY helped me out. Anyway, I'd suggest something like tren (fina) or maybe GH that will help put on quality gains that you will keep. EQ would probably be good too.. IMO you don't want to put on a ton of leg muscle then lose most of it after you get off (like taking testosterone)...talk about instability! Anyway, all quad development is very helpful in your recovery...but lower quad movements help 100x more than upper. Some lifts you can do are: extend the last 15% or so of a leg press, get a step (like they use for cardio classes) and put your bad leg ON the step and touch your good leg's heal to the ground in front of the step (like you're stepping down, but only touch your heal). You can add some dumbells to the last one if you need to. Also MAKE SURE you're using good form on all your other leg excersises!!! Your knee bends should NEVER be more than 90% and your knee should never go in front of your foot (like when you're doing lunges and squats). Also another NO-NO is kneeling ...like for ab crunches with the rope. By the way...you should wait to do all this stuff after your PT. In PT they will help you with extension and stuff but not much in the way of developing your muscle back. PT will be a biatch and you won't be able to lift with your bad knee for a few months probably. ...hope this was a little helpful. :)

If you have anything you'd like to ask me feel free to shoot me a PM.

yeah, i would. i have had an acl reconstruction (1998) and had i juiced i think i would have been back a lot quicker. hell, try to get some gh or something.

one more thing, do those gosh dang thera-band exercises like there's no tomorrow. and dont be a dumbass about not wearing your brace or thinking that you are jerry rice. i almost learned that the hard way. thought it was over for me playing basketball at 73 days out of acl reconstruction.

Bro, I've had ACL reconstructions on both knees, 5 additional surgeries on my left one which included taking out the ACL for good, and the most recent reconstruction on my right knee hasn't gone too well either. I tried to get the doc to prescribe AAS but he said no because of legality issues and this was coming from a doc who performed surgeries for all the MN sports teams. I think it would be best to wait at least a couple months after surgery until you get full range of motion back.

Thanks bros for the help. I get surgery on Wednesday. I'm gonna hold off for a few months now. I'm not looking forward to rehab at all.

I have read various articles regarding surgery and roids to heal. I have never had a surgery, but I have known a few guys that had surgery and used juice to recover more quickly. I think all of them would tell you, Hgh is better for a reconstructive surgery than juice alone. Because of their experience, some of them close friends,I would suggest Hgh over aas. Maybe both, but not just aas IMHO.

Peace

yep roids are the best thing for joints they lubricate, at least sus 250 and dbol does
