would the benefits be the same? i have some 500mg glucophage tabs and just didnt know if it would be as anabolic as slin

This is from the PDR on how it works. The insulin sensitivity and increased glucose uptake sound promising, the other stuff doesn't. But, again, I've never done this.

"Metformin is an antihyperglycemic agent which improves glucose tolerance in patients with type 2
diabetes, lowering both basal and postprandial plasma glucose. Its pharmacologic mechanisms of
action are different from other classes of oral antihyperglycemic agents. Metformin decreases
hepatic glucose production, decreases intestinal absorption of glucose, and improves insulin sensitivity
by increasing peripheral glucose uptake and utilization. Unlike sulfonylureas, metformin
does not produce hypoglycemia in either patients with type 2 diabetes or normal subjects (except
in special circumstances, see PRECAUTIONS) and does not cause hyperinsulinemia. With metformin
therapy, insulin secretion remains unchanged while fasting insulin levels and day-long
plasma insulin response may actually decrease."

I used to wonder the same thing. Glucophage has been praised by the weel known and respected Dr. Mirkin (sports medeicine guy who invented the healing term RICE) as the safest drug there is.

Usually it is prescribed to those that are insulin resistant so they produce huge amounts of insulin after eatting. It should "shuttle" the nutrients into cells the same way as slin or ala.

thats exactly what i was i was thinking

sorry it doesnt necessarly shutle nutrients like i said. what it does is prevent your liver from producing huge amounts of insulin after a meal. this doesnt mean you can eat a piece of cake though as no drug will prevent that insulin spike. Does this clarify things more?

Feel free to PM me.

Metformin does two things: inhibits gluconeogenesis in the liver (inhibits the breakdown of protein into glucose) and it improves insulin resistance. Seems like a great med. Here are the problems that athletes have encountered using it: it kills the appetite; causes either diarhea or constipation.

I recommend it to former obese folks after they have used cutting/fat loss cycles and wish to maintain their physiques with low-dose AAS. As you know, insulin resistance is a major contributing factor to fat gain.

Anyone have experience with using it with GH instead of slin for bulking??? I'm getting ready for my first gh cycle and really don't want to do slin

Dude you might want to look into ALA if you want to shuttle nutrients like you mentioned (of course nothing compares to insulin from what ive read).

K to you!

Glucophage 850MG tabs are more stable and less dangerous than injecting insulin.......postworkout or otherwise.

They are only beneficial if you are taking in moderate-high simple carbs.....

I've never experimented with Insulin and never will.....too much risk.....too little reward.

I wonder how much if any it would help if you took in 0 carbs pw.

i get great results taking in just whey protein after my workout when cutting but i think the lack of sugars and therefore lack of slin hurts my recovery.

what is more expensive slin or glucophage? on average

they say glucophage lowers testosterone right? But if it does...does it really matter if I'm taking exogenous Test???? On top of other shti I'm taking?
