Just start a Pilipino knife fighting course in my MMA dojo... I want to buy a good blade to keep me motivated.. Will never use it, probably never take it out of my house... But I feel like wasting money on one none the less.... Any advice on brands or models. I don't want to spend a ton of cash...

I found one on www.actiongear.com that doesn't have any metal in it. Real cheap, last ditch effort, you need to stab someone with something type of knife.

They have all sorts though.

That's wild bro! What style of Phillipino blade? Kali? and where is your dojo located?

So you want a live blade.Do you want a fixed blade or folder? A single edge or double edge? What length? I recomend nothing smaller then 6"
Whatever the case is I suggest going with a Cold steel blade.Best knives around IMO.A little pricey but well worth the money.Superior strength and edge retention with points that can take a real beating.

Lynn C. Thompson is the president and is greatly proficient in edged weapons, spears, firearms,Kickboxing and many other martial arts.
He offers a great Knife fighting video.."The Warriors Edge" which is a defanging the snake style, which is long range as opposed to something like Sayoc Kali which is closer. Both have their time and place.
The training is done with Ron Balicki who is Guru in many styles and has trained under Dan Inosanto.
