Hello guys! Using T3 for long durations i.e. 12-16weeks (i know it is very dangerous and chances of complications are very high) but does it lose its effectivness....basically your thyroid cannot slow down or halt completely unless come off - is that right?

Thanks much appreciated

I have never heard of anyone who took T3 to be forever shut down. They were suppressed for a while...months, but it always came back.

The main thing to do is to taper for at least twice as long as you built your dose up.

Personally, I would not stay on any longer than 8 weeks, with the last 6 weeks being a taper down.

The effects of T3 don't attenuate. You can use it for months at a time with a proper taper and be fine.

yeh i have heard people using for 12 months continuous without break and thyroid function was back to normal within 6-8 weeks...i think that the dangers of T3 with regards tothyroid function and complications etc are very much taken to the extreme - i heard that with most drugs - operations even - sides/complications are always exaggerated to the extreme (and this was from a doctors mouth itself)

That's right. Just like AAS cause suicide...Huh?

Using T3 may or may not have a particularly crippling effect on you. You could develop hyperthyroidism in the face of a negative feedback cycle. Although the bodybuilders on this board believe they understand the molecular mechanisms behind T3, I can attest to the fact that even researchers at Brown do not know all the functions of this hormone which regulates O2 intake and so other aspects of cellular energetics. It is estimated that there T3 may play a critical role in more than 100 celluar functions. It seems to me that since we do not know the effects of this potent hormone long-term, that using it is like playing with fire. Studies will not in any way determine your particular response to a hormone either.
