syrius radio

i have been putting this off but bought a syrius radio today, a car kit, so i can listen to howard. there is a big demand for them now so couldnt get the radio i will need for my house/and office. (we like listening at my business).

anyone bought one of these for their cars? did you install yourself our have professionaly done? is it difficult. this is kinda of an expense getting syrius so trying to save some cash. best buy wants about $85 to install in car.

I got the sportster replay, with the boombox and car kit. Took me 20 minutes to run the antena from my trunk to the front. Then it took me 10 seconds to use the suction cup to place it on my window. Great product. I have not listened to regular radio since I got it.

I got one for my brother for christmas, listened to Howard 100 and Raw Dog on the 6 hour drive back from Phoenix. Christmas drained me though so I'll have to wait a bit before getting one for myself. Going to miss Howards debut:(

just an FYI, it's Sirius...

but i have been listening for about 4 months now, and when i get in my wife's car without it, i can't stand listening to regular radio... :(

surely you cant be sirius.

cool diesel. i am still confused about how to set up for home/office though.

clerk at best buy told me i have to buy a car kit (which i did) and a radio specifically for sirius to use in home/office. due to high demand they were out of the home type radio.

spoke to my sister today, who can be impatient at times, and she said i DON"T have to but separate radio for home. wanted to ask her more but could tell she didn't feel like going into it.

can anyone help me on this one? more i think about it the more i am excited to have siruis. love howard and listening to regular radio sucks with all the ads and unfunny DJs.

also, when you sign up for service on sirius.com, do you have to purchase on e subcription only for car/office/home?

here's what I know:

If you have the radio factory installed into your car so it looks seamless (which I did) you have to buy a separate subscription, and a separate receiver, if you want to listen into your house.

If you get the "sportster" you can take the receiver from your car into your house and use the "home kit" or buy the "boombox" and you only have to have one subscription since you can ony use the receiver in one place at any one time.

With your standard subscription you get the MUSIC channels on the Internet for FREE. There is no way to listen to the talk stations over the Internet. There isn't even a pay extra option, I asked.

So basically, you need one subscription per receiver, (the additional subscriptions are only $6.95/month instead of $12.95) and depending on which receiver you get you can take some in and out of your car for use with home kits and some you can't.
