Symptoms of a fat-burner working????

OK...I went ahead and got the Lipo-6...

http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?t=403037

This was my first day on it and here is what I'm experiencing....

I feel like I'm moving VERY, VERY FAST...my eyes seem to be almost twitching, I'm very focused but overall feel pretty good...on the bad side, I have some nausa that comes and goes (probably from not eating much)...(I've never done speed, but I bet it feels like this)and I think I'm perspiring much more.

However, compared to the old Xandrine that I've tried in the past, I feel much better...that stuff used to make the ol' ticker beat real fast, made me dizzy and nausious...scared me...

The LiPO-6 seems to be working...I sweated WAY more than usual at the gym from the light cardio I do..(could be the weather/humidity though)....

I typically drink around 64 ozs a day of water and most cal's come from protein....logic tells me to drink more h2o but it's hard...I've had a kidney stone in the past and you'd think I would drink more just because of that....guess I didn't learn my lesson.

Do I take this stuff EVERYDAY...even on non-workout days?

Have anything to add?

Does this all seem normal?

Firstly, as you are well aware, Xenadrine RFA-1 contained ephedrine. The newer versions do not, and truthfully, I think they are bunk. Lipo-6 contains yohimbine, which can cause anxiety, sweating, high BP, just to name a few. What you are experiencing is normal. It will subside shortly after you get used to taking it daily. If you are taking this to lose weight (i.e. fat loss), then take it daily. If you're taking it for energy, then take it 30min prior to physical activity. Try to up your H2O to at least 4 liters of water daily (i.e. a gallon). On a typical day, I will drink roughly two gallons of water daily and I'm 6' 185 lbs. You may experience some light headaches. Monitor your BP regularly.

Thanks for reply....

Was trying to go to sleep and could feel my heart beating....

I did as you said and took my BP reading...

160/110 - checked on line and this WAY high...Stage 2 Hypertension...and this was probably 9 hours after I took the stuff...God only knows what it was say after 4 hours when I was really buzzing...

Having 2nd thoughts about this whole fat-burning thing....

Advice?

I'm 38 y/o, 270 lbs...not in great cardio shape...probably a 10 minute mile...

You should'nt be basing your fat loss on supplements. Diet is key. 160/110 is very high. Start exercising more frequently for a longer period of time. Possibly start your cardio first thing in the morning. Your BP will eventually level off. How is your family history? Genetics?

I received your PM:

Lipo-6
The active ingredients are: Ephedrine (if available), Caffeine, Yohimbine HCL, Coleus Forskohlii, and Bioperine.

The Ephedrine will act primarily as a stimulant on your central nervous system. It will also increase the rate at which glycogen is converted to glucose and fats converted to fatty acids. The caffeine, also a stimulant, helps in utilising these fatty acids as a source of energy and by increasing your adrenaline levels. Expect the caffeine effects to last 4-6 hours. Yohimbine HCL functions in a similar manner as Ephedrine in that it increases glycogen to glucose and fat to fatty acid breakdown rates. The adrenal gland scretes a hormone called norepinephrine which increases your heart rate and blood pressure as well as allowing the lungs to transport more oxygen. If you have ever been in a stressful or frightening situation then you will know the effects of norephinephrine. The hormone, however, only produces these effects for a short time under normal conditions. The Yohimbine HCL basically 'short curcuits' this process so that your norephinepherine levels remain higher for longer periods of time. This also produces the possible side effects as listed below (your body's way of saying 'what the hell are you doing to me'). The Coleus Forskohlii enhances lipolysis (fat to fatty acid breakdown) as well as thyroid functions. This will increase your metabolic rate and enhance thermogenesis. The Bioperine enhances thermogenesis further by increasing the rates at which vitamins/minerals are absorbed.

Possible Side effects:
  • nervousness
  • dizziness
  • tremors
  • rapid heart rate
  • headaches
  • jitters
  • palpitations
  • insomnia
  • increased blood pressure

Normal Dosage:
Take 2 capsules before breakfast or morning workout and 2 more capsules in the afternoon. To assess your individual tolerance, start with only 1 capsule twice daily for the first 5 days.

For extreme weight loss:
Take 2 capsules 3 times daily.
Do not take within 6 hours of sleep
DO NOT EXCEED 6 CAPSULES A DAY.

For increased energy:
Take 2 capsules 30 minutes before workout.

*Also:: Watch your use of other caffeine based products.

I know that alot of people have used this and other similar products with success but I would definitely try the long, hard route of exercise and a balanced diet first before I would consider taking a product like this. I know how tempting it can be to try a pill and even more so when you feel that your weight is out of control. You just have to consider that it took you thirty-eight years to obtain your current physique. Now, ask yourself, how long is reasonable for you to change your physique for the better. It is an important decision for you to make.

It seems to be "working". Sent you a PM.

Thanks you guys....I'm really going to watch this BP thing. I've already cut my dose down from 4 a day to 2 day and it seems to have help....although I think I may stop altogether...afterall, it's not like I'm training for the Olympia or anything...why risk my life and the next 30 years with my kids over a few inches on my waistline.

I've got a monitor here at work and I'll be checking it through out the evening; I have no problems giving this stuff up...

Told good ol' mom about the 160/110 and she freaked on me...

Showed my wife the bottle and who to sue if I died of a HA....LOL (I think).....

Thanks again.
