Swallowing your pride sucks

for me its come to the point where I need money and sitting here unemployed until I get my career off the ground isnt helping me at all.

so what Ive had to do is go back to the bar to work doors where I was once head of security, but since Ive left that position has been eliminated and the head bartender now schedules the doorstaff ,we dont get along for various reasons,mainly that her daughters coke head boyfriend was on the chopping block before I left,me and my boss wanted him gone,but since I left the owner,not my old boss, has decided she can schedule and that he is a good door man.

now its hard for me to swallow my pride but I guess Im stuck doing it.

can someone else tell me a story where they swallowed their pride , I really gotta feel better about this because I usually stick to my guns

I could flip burgers or so,but in all honestly to get my career going I need alot of time to train,and time to volunteer so a job like this works out very well as its just weekends and will pay the bills.

so as much as id like to do something else,hell anything else,Im looking out for myself long term this time and not a instant gratifacation plan

Man, it's not that big a deal. The job fits your schedule, and it covers your bills. You don't have to like the people you work with/for...fuck them. Just go in, make your money, and leave....not giving any of those people another thought til the next weekend. Hell, you might even find yourself in a scenario where a brawl breaks out, you notice someone about to sucker cokehead....and then you simply fail to intervene. Nobody will ever know it was on purpose but you, and you will go home with a warm and toasty feeling in your heart.

Sometimes, you have to look real hard to find the silver lining...but believe me, it's always there.
