Sushi And Dieting

HERE LATELY I HAVE BEEN EATING SUSHI WHILE DIETING IS THIS GOOD OR BAD?

I USUALLY EAT RAW SALMON, MAKEREL, EEL, SQUID.

If it fits into your macronutrient ratios, I don't think it's too bad. The white rice is relatively high GI, though. Overall, it is good to eat at sushi restaurants compared to other restaurants because you know exactly what you are getting.

I think sashimi rocks... it is protein with just a little fat (omega-3), it tastes good, and it can be eaten at a restaurant with friends.

White rice is not that high GI. Its about the same as brown rice I shit you not. Only thing that is missing is fiber and nutrients.
Alot of people eat meal replacements when dieting. They have matodextren at it has a very high gi. White rice is about 40, maltodextren is 100.

Good point Necromaster. And IMO the GI goes out the window when you combine foods. In other words maltodextrin's GI by itself is 100; but when eaten in a MRP with protein and a tablespoon of flax oil.... who knows, maybe half that!?? We know for a fact that protein and dietary fat affects gastric emptying. I for one take the GI with a grain of salt, not to say there is no value. I just don't want to be extreme.
