Surprise Bruise Questrion

Hey there

I injected into my right glute 4 days ago. there was a little bleeding post-injection but nothing major. Mild pain for a couple of days and minor bruise.

Today i looked and it seems overnight a much larger bruise has appeared, about .5" x 1". it's dark purple and isnt painful.

I'm not overly worried but it does seem a little strange.

looking for any advice. thanks!

It's a bruise. When you have bleeding you have bruising. No pain, no swelling, no problem most likely.

thanks for getting back to me - there is very little pain, but there is somewhat of a lump in the region, sort of a vague lump larger than the bruise itself, but again, no pain.

you're fine as long as it's not a huge, red, hot lump.

When you do a shot, massage it in deeply. I've had tetanus shots and the docs think I'm a freak because I don't feel pain from them. Five minute deep tissue massage and it is all good. If you have a lunp from an infection, you will feel it. It will hurt right on that lump and eventually that lump will come to a head.

this was my third shot ever so i am still pretty new to all this, but super careful and sterile. I do massage each time for several minutes after.

The only difference from this shot was that there was a little more bleeding than usual after and a minor bruise.

i'm not too worried, it just seems strange for a bruide to get worse suddenly a few days later.

If you had more bleeding than usual you may have gone through one or more veins....through, not landing in. That is fairly normal.
