Surgery while juicing.

I have read that it is not ideal to be on steroids when undergoing surgery, although I am not sure if there is any specific reason why this is.

I am due to go in for some surgery (nothing too major). I have been on a long cycle and want to bridge during surgery (no time to come off the cycle) and the recovery period with test, and probably some arimidex.

Is there anything wrong with this? I figure test. is a fairly benign substance and your body produces it anyway, so it's probably a good choice.

Help anyone?

The problem will be in your bloodwork. Number one, steroids will have a negative effect on clotting time. Second, if your liver values are elavated than you will not be cleared by the anesthesiologist. I know all this becasue I just went through it about 5 weeks ago. I had been off for about a month or so and was bridging with 20mg anavar until about two weeks before. I was able to have my surgery althought they said if my liver values were any higher they would have cancelled.

Will the test negatively affect my clotting time?

I am not sure whether they do bloodwork prior to elective surgery here. I can't remember having it done last time I had surgery.

If the surgeon knows my elevated values are from steroids will he not worry about these elevated values? My values are bound to be elevated considering what i've been on.

Since the ansesthia is somewhat harsh on your liver, I don't think that you will find a Dr. who is going to take the chance, just because you tell him it is due to steroid use. I would get your blood work done asap, see how it is and then go from there. You may need to subside usage for a while or put off surgery. I am not a Dr. (yet) so I would suggest speaking to him/her about your situation.

BP and HR Rate Too

Don't forget about the elevated Blood Pressure and Heart Rate ... affects the anesthesia efficacy ... DEFINITELY tell your doc your on a cycle OR re-schedule if you can :insane:
