As many of you know I am a huge BB.com hater, I absolutely hate the place for reasons I won't go into. That being said, I still go there from time to time and ran into this, which I think is very important. Recently ESPN and affilate sports networks have been taking low and false cheapshots against Arnold, steroids and bodybuilding in general. This is a link to a petition/complaint form letter that BB will forward to ESPN on your behalf to illustrate your support of Arnold and desire to see unbiased programming with regard to bodybuilding and steroids. With the current fiasco regarding public steroid propoganda we need to come together to support icons like Arnold!

An interesting topic. Its not as simple as it was before. When Arnold was at his prime,you just walked into the chemist and ordered what you wanted based on doctors advice. Arnold owes everything to steroids,but surely you can't ask him to support something now that its being made illegal? He's a politician who also loves BB, and most of his electorate are ignorant of AAS,so why even bother?

Its a catch 22, i mean arnold has done so much for BB, but now he is stuck between a rock and hard place. I mean surley he owes everything to the BB community and to steroids, but now he is in a spot where every word he says is analayzed...he cant support steriod use if its illegal...in the end of the day it all comes down to watching your OWN ass...and that is what he is doing since he is in a high profile job...im sure if he was still acting and not into politics he would still be PRO steriods...under his breath of course..

I totally understand (and to a cetain point agree) with what you guys are saying, but don't you think that arnold may be in a bit of a fight for his political life and credibility since the last wave of the "steroid war" has washed over us? Steroids are the whipping boy, and Arnold could not even think about coming out publicly and supporting them as governor at this time. It seems to me that his comments (that some may view as lies, or disloyal) are merely his defence mechanism against the propoganda campaign being run by the Bush government with regard to steroid use and bodybuilding in general?

All of us know that steroids are safe and effective when taken properly. The bottom line is that Arnold, I mean the new Arnold, has to play by certain rules. As unbelievably hypocritical as that might be it is just the way it is in the world. How many of us placed in a similar situation with a lot to lose would do it differently?

An example could be if you personal trained people for a living, wife and kids at home to feed and someone started spreading rumors that the reason you looked so good was because you cheat and use steroids. Knowing most of your clients are conservative and would object strongly and possibly leave you thus ending your career. What would you do?

You see it’s never that simple.

At the end of the day Arnold has to look at himself in the mirror and know that he is selling out. I am sure it eats him up inside but you should only fight the battles that you have a good chance of wining.

The time isn’t right in our society for the average American to accept steroids. Look how long it took for blacks and women to get fair treatment.

He has pressured muscle and fitness and one other magazine, that he sits on as an editor, to really come out and bash steriods. At the same time though he feels that he did nothing wrong when he used them because they were legal. Now that they are illegal, it is wrong, that his reasoning?!!
