I know that I'm missing some stuff but when it comes to supps. I'm really not sure what I should be taking. any suggestions would be very helpful or links to threads. Thanks :)

I take Calcium + Glucosamine/Chondroiten + my prescription stuff....

*hoping Glucorell will show up today*

Ladies, dandelion root isn't something you should take for a long period of time.

.....I might agree with you that extended periods will lead to a less dramatic end result as compared to a 10 day deal just before a show.

what would you consider a long period of time. I started it on Monday since i knew it was good for water retention and I'm PMS'ing right now which I think is worse for me than some girls (migraines, bloating, lower back pain, etc) Do you think after this week I stop taking it for a couple of weeks and then cycle it like that? Thanks M24K :)

I would not take it for any longer than 10 days, your body adjusts to it quickly.

Yes you can cycle it, are you holding on to that much water that you need a diuretic all the time? maybe your sodium intake is too high?

No, i'm really not. Maybe I'm trying to convince myself that this fat on my body is water weight  I'll stop taking it on Friday...THanks again. I guess I jumped the gun when I saw other people using it here at EF and figured, hey they take it and look great, maybe it'll help me that much more. I don't eat a lot of sodium so I know that's not a problem. Thanks for opening mis ojos!!! :eyes:

This is not directed at you, but I need to re-iterate to everyone... PLEASE please please please do not copy what I take on a daily basis, ANY of my supps... I added the D-Root per Shadow because I drink 2-3 gallons of water a day... and I will not elaborate on this but I have other health issues that completely differentiate me from the others on here. Please always ask or post up about anything you want to add or change to your program.

In general ladies, if you see 1 of the girls here doing something or eating, or taking a certain supplement ask them about it before deciding to take or do what they do. What works for 1 person may not work for another.

You need to get to know your body so you can find out what works for yours.

And toitasatiger no problem hun, glad I could help :)

I honeslty think there are TONS of people on here that are afraid to post or just browsing who do the exact same thing... and can you imagine bouncing from one plan to another to another?, pills?, workouts?, cardio?, etc...

I am so happy I FINALLY posted, made some awesome freinds, learned a hellva LOT (and I still have a way to go) ... This is home to me...

Trying to get in the know here....what's the sole purpose for dandelion root? Why would one begin taking it? (i'm good with my stuff as of now...i would just like to know about all of these additional supps...how they effect, purpose, etc)
Thanks!

Thanks Bunny and 24k  I'll definitely ask questions, I think i'm getting antsy about seeing better results because so far I feel like I'm pushing myself 100% at each workout and I'm on track with my eating. I don't, however, want to have some huge dramatic drop in weight or anything because it seems like when that happens, it comes back just as fast. I'm trying to be patient and know that I have enough time before summer to reach the goals I'm setting for myself so thanks for the knowledge and support :)

Give it some time and be patient, you'll get the results you want, but you got to stick to it, and I can't say this enough BE PATIENT :)

We're here for ya.

i couldnt have said it any better

I have to comment re: period symptoms..... I have ALWAYS had HORRIBLE period symptoms: lots of pain, bloating, etc....

BUT -- now that I'm eating better the majority of the time & have lost some bf, etc.....my symptoms are greatly reduced..... Last time -- I had NO breast soreness, NO bloating and very little cramping....

Hang in there -- it may take some time -- but you'll get there...

Exactly -- you shouldn't be retaining water on an ongoing basis. So no reason to supplement on-going w/ a diuretic. Further, despite having owned full kitchen counter-tops full of supplements that require at least 4 swallows of handfuls of pills, but simpler is better.

Here's a really interesting change I've seen -- I've been taking the 1 pill dose of a Whole Foods Market brand multi for a while, in addition to seperate Vit E & selenium, recommended by my chiro for my back, folic acid & garlic because they are good for blood pressure, CLA (because I had some), a thyroid support (because I wanted to try it), Vit C & echinecea (because it was cold season), glucosamine/chondroitin & MSM for my various tendonitis pains, r-ala & some other stuff as good anti-ox's and probably some other stuff. Required four handfuls of pills & 4 big swallows to get it all down.

On the new regimen, I'm taking prenatal vitamins, r-ala & MSM/glucosamine. My hair & nails are growing noticably better since I started the prenatals 2.5 weeks ago.

But simpler is better. If your diet doesn't meet most of your vit / mineral needs, then you should be looking at your diet as well. Or perhaps make sure you do a "detox diet" or just take an extended break from a highly restricted diet (i.e. competition diet) to let your body get all those things it needs for a while.

And anything like stimulants should be cycled on / off as well.
