quite a difference from the 504's that got foisted off on america in the 80's

Well, it's just the front half of a small front-wheel-drive car, grafted onto something similar to the rear wheel of a motorcycle.

As far as I know, they only built one.

As for the Peugeot 504, it wasn't fast but it was a damned good car. You still see a lot of those running in Africa. It had a soft ride and comfy seats.
