Hello. I started working out at 135 last year. I am now 185+. 5'8''. Bf might be 15%? I have been working out one day, then the next day off, repeat. I have been doing this for 4 months now. Do you think I should switch things up? Like eat a lot less for a few weeks, then ram it up again? Take time off, or workout even more? Thanks!

great progress... I will assume you want to keep getting stronger and bigger with minimal bodyfat as we all would like.

Are you still gaining weight?

Have lifts stalled for you?

Do you feel like shit/been ran over by a train?

I THINK i'm gaining weight, I THINK I;ve gained about 5lbs in the 4 months, that sound normal after I gained so much weight?
I deadlifted 370 for 5 a few days ago, then missed 6 and got 4 after that. Although it was a new gym... But I usually increase weight on at least one exercise a workout. Sometimes I increase two or three.... And I dont feel like shit or I have been ran over by a train, I really like the day on day off approach.

only 5lbs in 4 months?

Eat more. Then you'll add more muscle, weigh more, and lift more.

Doesn't sound like you need time off or a deload necessarily... I think it just may be lack of food from what you've typed.

I again direct you to your old thread for plenty of information on programming.

But if you like this schedule and going by feel a bit on the increases is working well (i.e., your lifts are still going up), keep doing what you're doing.

Well man think about it this way. I have gained 50 lbs in 13 months, so any extra weight is going to be HARD to put on naturally right?

It's going to require more calories because of the lean mass you've added, but at 185 you're nowhere near your natural potential.

Yeah that's fast.

Everyone's body is different, I can't tell you how hard or easy it will be.

But it's simple, if you eat more and train... you will grow. You're young... you shouldn't get too fat. And if you start to, cut back on eating a bit and do some cardio.

A week or two off could serve your body right... who knows. Experiment with other avenues you're young enough.

Thanks for that. I think I'll keep everything the same, but just do a few low intensity cardio sessions a week. Also I was living off of milk, whey, weight gainer, ANPB. But im home for 3 weeks now and eat tons more real food.

Have you ever thought of just simply rearranging the order of your routine? Like say on chest day you ALWAYS start with flat dumbell presses going from 2 sets 12 reps fairly light weight to a heavy workload for 3 sets and maximum load but the max load is something you can do for 6-8 times or so. Maybe before that do some incline cable flyes or flyes on a pec deck to tire your pecs out a little more. You wont flat press as much when you get to it but it might make your muscles a tad confused.

I started weight training when I weighed about 120 and my sticking point was 160. I then started eating 5-6 times a day of good clean food and lots of it and I went from day on day off to one muscle group per day rest all day on sunday. I exploded from 160-180 in about 3 months. I was on animal M stak animal pak animal nitro G and animal pump and I continued whey protien shakes. You maybe could even change the times you train per day? I dunno sometimes little things like that can make your body be like wtf and start growin.

Edit: Oh and one more thing I absolutley love and had sick results with are drop sets.

Simply put, you gained 50 lbs in 13 months because you ate enough to gain 50 lbs in 13 months. Would it be hard to put on more? The difficulty isn't so much the weight, but what that weight is...muscle or fat. I could put on 50lbs in 13 months pretty easily because I have the appetite of a disgusting pig, but I have to control myself because there's no way it'd end up in the composition I wanted.
