Sucralose and other artificial sweeteners

I'm hearing all kinds of horrible stuff about aspartame and artificial sweeteners. Enought to swear them off for life.

I'm under the impression that Stevia, which is not allowed to be sold as "an artificial sweetener" but is available is a food supplement is completely healthy. I've tried it, and it seems to taste as good as any other artificial sweetener.

However all the RTD and many of the other protein drinks have sucralose. What are everyones thoughts on this?

Stevia has a leafy green aftertaste. This is why they usually combine it too. If you're staying away from A.F. sweet. then you should be wary of stevia too. If you need something to sweeten things with, then stevia is the best choice. Careful though, they sometimes mix it with maltodextrin too.

Stevia is much better. If you are going to omit sucralose and aspartame from your diet you must also watch sugar free products and also sugar free gum. Its just that they put so many chemicals in it to add flavor.
If you are drinking a "good Protein supplement" then usually it will have to have something in it to add flavor but I would look at the label. See how close it is from the top of the ingredients to judge just how much of it is in there. Do you know what I mean? It will more than likely have a small trace and you should be okay with that unless you have some kind of intolerance to it. A good brand is Beverly International. It is very natural. The sucralose is also a very very very small trace.
