A few questions to all you strongmen out there:

1- what does a typical workout look like?

2- how do you incorporate strongman training into a bodybuilding routine?

3- Does it increase both strength and size?

A few questions to all you strongmen out there:

As many people as you ask, you will get as many different responses.

1) Tuesday: Pressing work (bench, ohp, triceps, lats, biceps)
Thursday: Lower Work (box squats, deads, glute/ham raises)
Sunday: 6+ Strongman events

I'll do abs on each of those days though.

2) For the most part, Strongman training is just figuring out what your weaknesses are on the Strongman Events, and changing your training to decrease the weaknesses that you have. Just like bodybuilding. Fix your weaknesses. If you had a huge chest and tiny shoulders...why spend so much time working your chest and neglecting your shoulders? Focus on that weak link. Same in Strongman. Assess and then make a plan.

3) Every single person who has trained with me over the last many years in Strongman has gotten bigger, stronger, and leaner if that was their goal. Just like bodybuilding, size is most always a combination of training and FOOD. Strongman means that you have to have that max strength AND the endurance. Most shows I never know what the events will be when I show up so I could be asked to do a 1RM or I could be using a light weight for max reps...so be prepared for anything.

Always have fun...that is the point to what we both do big man.
