Strongest Women

There was one big women from the US, who didnt win. She looked pretty, then when she opened her mouth for an interview.....sheesh.... sounded just like a man !!!

Was very impressive though....the winner was from the US ....she was like 5'4 and 174 pds. She still sounded like a girl--- maybe she was just on GH :D

Was it a VW or a 1965 heavy Chevy ?????lol

I caught it, it was great! There was such a cool rang4 of physiques on display, from women who looked like fitness competitors almost (one very cute blonde Finn, oh my god, to die for) all the way to a superbutch woman from South Africa who just had had big uncut muscles and a buzz cut and a voice deeper than my boyfriend's, lol. They all looked great, all in very different ways. It was cool to see women who were training for strength and for themselves, and not necessarily to impress judges. Not that I mean that all competitors do that (please don't flame me!) I know it's not the case, but you know what I mean.

Inspirational! Made me jump and squeeze off an extra couple sets of squats (ouch).

Anybody know when it's going to run again?

Well... I guess it looked like a VW... but hey, the next highest number of reps was only 8. I certainly wouldn't pick a fight w/ that gal!

I hear ya Sassy...Have to be impressed by such dedication and strong will! I cringe at times watchin 'em !

Ann, or Kb- let me know if you see any promo's on ESPN for a re-run date- PLEASE!

Wyst, watch it..I got me a buzz cut..lol. Different strokes for different folks..but at least they are striving for something good in their goals. How many can say that now a days? MORE POWER TO EACH ONE OF US..No matter the sport or direction! I'm sure you agree. :)

Yeah i saw it.

The woman from the US who won 'looked' the strongest. The runner up (the woman from Finland who trains with the finnish strongman...i forgot his name) looked good as well but there was a big difference in the physique of the winner and the blonde runner up.
I enjoyed the show and it always gets me in the mood to lift heavy and go to the gym.

It gets the adrenaline rushing. Someday I'd like to give a try to the powerlifting side of bodybuilding to see how far I can go.

I do, I do agree! I've had me a buzz cut in my day as well, Vixenbabe! Hell, I shaved my head a time or two in school in my punk rock days. I actually didn't write it very well, but my point was that they ALL looked great, and it was so incredibly amazing that there were so many strong women there who had followed so many different paths to get to their amazing levels of power!

Sorry if it sounded like I was saying the opposite, or like I was dumping on the south african woman. Maybe I shoulda said diesel instead of butch? Anyhow, they were all ten times the athlete I am, and all amazing beautiful sexy inspirations.

Although I have to admit the blonde finn was my favorite eye candy in this particular case, I am always so happy to see something else, because, being japanese, there's no way on god's green earth I'm ever going to look like that, lol. I spend a fair amount of time on the web browsing for women role models whose physique I can aspire to, so this show was great for me. My latest pin up near my weights: Min Yung Kim! (drool!)

Wyst

Min Yung Kim. Yeah!

In the next few years...you will see a much tighter race on the WSW contest. Basically, the only competitors who had implements to train with were Jill Mills and the blonde woman who placed second and trained with Janni V.

Most of those women train in a different discipline than strongwoman...but you will begin to see some of the competitors who only compete in strongwoman contests. The WSM used to be that way...they invited competitors from different types of sports and lifting...now...you must be a strongman to compete in strongman...in order to do well anyways.

Jill has trained very hard...a good friend of mine trains with them in her backyard...they train like animals.
