Stretch Marks

i have not been around lately been real busy. i have stretch marks from my past cycles that have faded quite a bit but was just wondering what people are using currently to counter stretch marks. k for any help

u dont have any k to give lol

however.. that aside... i have heard vitamin e lotion/cocoa butter can help...

ive also been reading/hearing about some new creams like maderma (sp?) that are supposed to help

i got them from growing when i was a teen. even before i started working out.

basically no. there is no drug or lotion that will get rid of strech marks. I have tried coccoa butter, medrima .... they dont get rid of them.

the only thing i find useful, is that the coccoa butter may help prevent new ones from forming. so use it every day in the spots where you think you are going to get streach marks

well, u cant do much about them, some say that an increse amount of zinc will reduce the possibility of appearing for new ones. About the old ones u cant do anything, means the ones that are white-pearly already, for the red-violet fresh ones u can do a laser treatment, the laser will remove the injured tissue but u will still have the stretch mark. U can do ultraviolets for the marks to get a white-pearly color faster . I used a cream called Elancyl 75 ml ed for some time and my strech marks changed their color faster plus the skin was softer, that helpt me a little to prevent new ones.

actually they tried laser treatment on my probably 10 yrs ago. it did nothing for me. maybe the have better tech these days.

were can you get the Elancyl cream? so that made them turn white from red/pink faster?

Hey Swolk.... you just like to rain on everyone's parade, dontcha? *grin*

I don't have any experience with stretchmarks but I've read that Emu Oil, Vitamin K or Vitamin E oils or a product alled StriVectin could work... Retin-A is also used

K for any help LOL! Thats funny dude. Seriously though, look what woman take for stretch marks after they have children. Cocoa butter might help. I don't know for sure, I'm kinda proud of mine. Little trophies, but they aren't real big.

hey bro, i am just speaking from personal exeriance here and on the other shoulder thread. i like to comment on things that i have personal first hand experiance of. :)

i wish i could say that there is some magic cream to use, but i dont there is :(

i dont mean to rain on anyone else's parade. you know that :)

Dude I have some nasty strechmarks under my arms on the side of my pecs...my bro had the same thing- Ive tried everything and Mederma makes them shrink to like 1/4 of what they were. My bro actually had surgery to get his stiched up- he used mederma after the surgery and now hes got nothing at all. But vitamen E cant do much on the BIG strech marks to make a diff, well atleast it couldnt for me and I was religious about it- 3x a day for over a year.

glad mederma worked well for you.
im curious, as i may try it again.

how large were the strech marks that you used mederma on?
how long had you had them b/f you started using it?
how long did you use it for?

I have the same problem stretch marks all along my under arms and sides of chest comming half way across chest ,some down my bicep .Then the back of my triceps little white silver looking ones all over my ass and quads. but now to top it off My girlfriend spotted some new ones on my lats they are deep red and look nasty but now with the new ones it makes my old ones look not so bad anymore

I'll try madermia for the new ones on my lats but the other ones are almost 10 years old and i doubt it will do much

apply the cocco butter where ever you think you may get new ones. it may help prevent a little

Ya like swolk was saying, PRE treatment of stretch marks is the best method to keep from getting them. Cocoa butter helps keep the skin more elastic, vitamin e helps, they also have lotions for women when they get pregnant called "9 months" that is supposed to help keep from getting them.

As far as Strivectin, I worked at gnc for 2 years and sold the shit out of it. It was retailed at about 130 bucks, some people returned them, and some people kept buying it. I had one older lady who would buy 3 tubes at a time. It wont make them completely disappear, but if you have bright pink stretch marks, the strivectin will help blend the skin tone in matching it with your regular skin color. A buddy of mine had pink stretch marks on side of chest and armpit and it definately helped blend it in. better than nothing I guess, but then again it's not worth the cost.

Strivectin is cheaper these days...

Retin-A seems to be recommended alot by dermo's... as well as Vitmains E & K...

There are also more potent products than strivectin out there containing argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-3) which has proven to reduce wrinkles (as well as botox)... not sure how well they work for stretchmarks though

1. They were both about 2.5 inches and about 1/4 thick
2. Had them for about 2 years b/f I started using it.
3. Used it for 2 months and now they are barely visible
