Stretch Marks

Anyone else have this problem??

I have fair skin and purple stretch marks it looks bloody awful.

Have them on my hips, stomach, biceps and by my armpits.

A doctor said they were due to puberty, being overweight and fast muscle gain, but surely there is a way to get rid??

tanning can help reduce them.. some people say rubbing vitamin E in them helps.. but from what I understand once you got them, they are there forever.

Yeah I have a similar problem on my back, which I suspect was from growing too fast (i.e i was 6'2 by the age of 13) and havent grown much since (8 years ago).
Over time they have slowly faded.
I think the only definate solution is some laser procedure similar to the one to remove scars, but I've heard it can be expensive.

Question,

I don't really "TAN" but I was looking into rub on tans, because I burn really easily because I have sensitive skin normally and its increased because I am currently on accutane. So would a rub on cream tan be good enough to hide the stretch marks. I am a tannish color as I am korean and black. And my stretch marks are peachy/white color. Should it work out fine?

Just going off track for a second regarding accutane. I was on that evil medication for a year or two years i forget and I would highly recommend considering your other options. Yes it did get rid of my acne, but the side effects I am still suffering. Being naturally snow white skin colour and very sensitive to the sun hasn't helped but now I'm noticing (after being of the drug for 4 or 5 years) now that i have lost all ability to produce any colour other than bright red, and most concernenly my skin still burns after applying 30+ sunscreen. (maybe this is due to I live in Australia, who knows?)

I thought this drug was banned after many people suffered depression and commited suicide (or is this only in australia?).

But back to the stretch marks, I might try the tan cream and see what happens, I would say that a consistent skin colour would make the strech marks less "eye catching", which would be good.
