Sorry to post this here, but this board gets the most traffic. I have a few questions. Outside West Side training, can anyone recomend any good books ar good reading on improving strength? Does anyone know of any programs designed to inprove strength on smaller bodyparts such as bis or tris instead of the 3 big lifts? Thanks.

One Book I am getting ready to buy is "Modern Trends in Strength Training," by Charles Poliquin. $29.25 at Borders, but you have to order it. This month's Ironman Mag has a good article about Vince Gironda's training routines.

I don't think you're going to find too much hardcore info on specifically strengthing bi's. There isn't alot of reason for it, at least in strength sports.
Tri's on the other hand you'll find a ton, and Westside is one of the best.
If you're familiar with Westside practices you can just apply them to your bi's of course.

Basically you would need to do heavy movements at low reps, between 5 - 8. Now some people might say 8 is even too high for real strength training, but keep in mind that biceps movements are all pulling motions, and when you go too low form suffers badly.

Along with this I'd also change up the movements every 6 weeks. According to Westside your body starts to adapt if you continue the same routine for any longer.

But be careful, going real heavy on isolation movements carries a greater risk of injury.
