Please Scroll Down to See Forums Below I contacted an old friend for a list. I rec. an auto response saying he had ben bought out. Also I was instructed to send a blank email to one of two addys. This did not bother me. The response I got from these new addys did. The response told me to click on a link which they provided. They said this would verify I was interested in a list and would give them permission to send it. Sounds fishy, what do ya'll think. Any one heard of this? Am I paranoid or could this be some type of covert action?

Sounds fishey to me as well. Why would the new guy even tell you he was not the old guy? He could just say he changed his routine.
When he bought out the other guy, did he get to keep the corporation name? Is there a franchise fee? Did the government approve this buy out, to protect us from a monopoly?

That would freak me out too. <ah, ah!!!> That reply souinded pretty fishy. Would this work? From a different pc that you have access to could you send an email from there asking for the list and then pick up their email response/list from another coputer? Even if you get the list would you trust it...... tough call bro
