Hey just happened upon this.. I think I know what she is talking about. I visited my friend Katie who is an RN recently, and got to WATCH her doing this. I love watching weird medical stuff in person. I BELIEVE that your girlfriend was asking about a substance that basically freezes stubborn abdominal fat and when you freeze or burn cells they die. Forever. The woman she did it on was awake and did complain of pain. I felt bad for her, it really looked very, very painful. Katie numbed up the spot with a local and injected it and kind of rubbed the stomach part a while. It freezes the fat (you cannot be a heifer, it is for tiny amounts that won't go away no matter what) and over time it just goes. I asked my friend WHERE it goes, do you poop it out, does it crumble into dust, I mean, what? and she didn't really explain it well because I still don't know (usually she explains weird stuff amazingly well.) I have to say, as a woman, I wonder how people get this kind of fat that won't go away. On the woman who had it done it was kind of a gross "roll" that I imagine perhaps was like loose skin from pregnancy, but if it were loose skin, only surgery or tightening laser would help it go away. Fat is one thing, loose skin is another. I assume the person doing the procedure better make damn sure of which is which. It was high-priced, don't remember how much, think it was called "Coolmax" but that might be another thing? I did not get to see the "after" on the woman so I don't know if it works, but if your gf wants I can ask Katie if it actually works, if it lasts, and also -- what I wondered -- does the fat "move" and show up in weird other places, like the armpit? I mean, once fat cells die they die, no coming back, but if you gain weight it has to go SOMEWHERE in the body. I don't have that weird roll or weird fat deposits and never have so what I would wonder is WHY or HOW these happen? When I gain weight, it goes most obviously to tits and ass like typical woman weight. I think if there is abnormal fat deposits figure out why and then try the extreme -- imo this procedure seems extreme and iffy, but I suppose if one is desperate and has tried the best methods, namely, really healthy eating, then by all means look into this. Also find out what happens after, where weight goes since that seems important to me. Look, I have been all but bedridden for a YEAR from a car accident and gained little to no weight. And I like to eat. I used to work out a ton, always had enviable abs, and still have a flat stomach (abs just are not as cut-looking.) Why i am saying this is, I am utter evidence that besides genetics, having a flat stomach (whether you have major muscle or not) comes not from exercise but rather from great eating habits. So many people ask me over and over what exercises to do to get my kind of abs and I am sick of explaining what I learned in nursing school, that you can have the most major muscles in the world but they will never show until you have lower fat and that apparently comes more from eating right (and btw I have never gone hungry, so people don't and shouldn't have to starve.) So can someone explain why people have these weird "fatty" deposits? It doesn't seem normal and I don't blame people for wanting to just rip/freeze/burn the unwanted crap off.
