Steroids......bad idea? leaning towards the negative

i've been contemplating steroids for a long time now- contemplating the benefits/ side effects and additionally whether i need them or not. having read some of the side effects on this board, i am beginning to feel that roids may in fact may not be the best option

however i've made very good progress in my training without any steroids- NO2 and creatine are the two supplements i take

Early december 2004, my max bench was 230. Here in the middle of march in 2005, it is at 280 pounds so i consider this signifcant progress in that time- again, no steroids. Just lots of hard training! So again i think i may not need them

but again the supplements i have taken have yielded great results- i train for 4 days per week.........i'm also 19, so i don't know if i am done growing (height wise)

What do you guys think, stay clean or eventually go to the "dark side"?

Dude, your 19, why even consider steroids? Take it when your body can do so with as few side affects as possible. If you did it now, you might loose any chance of getting taller plus you could skew a whole load on other things i dont even care to get into. Anyways, you're loaded with test now anyways, just build yourself up naturally. Do this, then when the time comes to juice, you'll be set, and will beable to fully capitalize on its affects. In the meantime, further educate yourself on this stuff.

at 19 your natural test production is peaking. taking gear now would just replace what you are producing naturally...i would wait until youre at least early 20's and dont be so quick to jump on gear especailly if you are making progress in your lifts..save it for when youre older and the gains slow

i turn 20 on July 21st.

Also i've been wondering about the media and steroids- how much are they exageratting it? I think they are clearly over-exageratting the negative side effects, but i believe that most of these negative effects are due from over dosages as many people believe taking more is better......which i think is clearly extremely dangerous with such a substance

That's not to say though there are no side effects, i think they definetely exist, some which can be substantial.....as i have read here.

Don't worry about the media and things of that nature. The main concern is YOU. You're strong for a 19 year old. If things are working now, which they seem to be, no need to find a fix. Steroids should be used only when you reach your natural potential, or close to it. You still got years of training ahead of you. Keep busting your ass, and when the day comes, you'll be glad that you waited

Im 24 and havent done them yet. Youve got plenty of time to train hard and natural and see where it takes you. Id go that route for now. But thats just me. Sounds like your making good progress as is. Patience can be the hardest part. Its been 10 years training for me. KEEP KILLING THAT SHIT!!

too soon, your bones will stop growing, etc.

yeah... the media. They do exagerrate the negative sides. HOwever there are real reasons not to do it, the chief of which I mentioned

not to mention screwing uo your endocrin system before your in your 20's!!!!!!
HRT at 21 is not a fun thing

Making that decision is one that ONLY you can make. Just make sure that it is for the RIGHT reasons.

I have good friends who have been on and off (mostly on) for more than a decade...nearing 15 years. They are healthy with no serious issues of any kind.

I also have friends who have been off and on for more than 6 years and they are now in their mid 20's. They are also over 6'4", athletic, strong, and healthy.

IMO, when you make that choice, if you choose to use...it should be for the right reasons. It is a committment IMO...just like marriage. The decisions that you make can, will, and should stick with you for the rest of your life.

I say wait, and wait a while. I am 37, and I am in the middle of my 1st light cycle. AS are not the devil in a bottle that they are made out to be, but they are not magic pills either.

Wait a while. Good luck.

At 19 you do not need steroids. Are you planning on competing or being a professional athlete? I started using them very sparingly at the age of 28. I was tired of going to the gym and being stuck at the same weights . I put on about 20-25 pounds of additional muscle and I kept it...

Why? because I has 13 years of natural training that primed my body, the additonal muscle is not fleeting.

I'm 41 and still making gains. I never did them. Although, I've had my test levels measured, and I'm naturally high still at 41 years old!! Hard work will pay off in the end.
