New member
hey all..im new here..i think my stats should are in my profile just to check they are age:20, male, 5'7, and about 189-195 depending on time of the day. i been training for a couple of years, all natural, now a week into my first cycle of deca/dbol. after getting internet, discovering these bodybuilding forums and reading through lots of the posts i now have much more knowledge than i did before from my anabolic textbooks and bbuildin friends bout gear and my age.im concerned bout the warnin off ppl around my age from using and have a few questions. 1st should this be a genuine concern for me..<i train well, eat big and clean, gear would be by only bad vice, highly commited to bbuilding>..or is it something that u guys tell people to prevent irresponsible use? as i imagin many ppl say "i wana get big quick, im 18, what gear wil get me muscles? 2nd, if u think it is a genuine problem, although i feel i had used up much of my natural potential and pushed my trainin/diet to the abosulute limit, do u think i should continue going natural again for a few more years?
thx for any advice, jayB

You'll hear several different opinions.

Personally, I don't see much wrong with starting at a young age, if you have the knowledge and the training experience. As long as your body is done growing, steroids cannot significantly impair you any more than when you're, say, 30 or 40 years old.

The problem is that most people around the age of 18 are simply looking for a quick fix. They train like idiots, eat like shit and lead unhealthy life-styles. They get big on steroids, but they're still eating and training inefficiently. Assuming they conducted proper PCT (yah right), they will most likely lose a fair amount of the gains because they continue to train and eat like idiots. The end result? A lot of wasted money.

Considering that you're on here and asking this very question most likely means that you're not one of these people.

Could'nt have said it better!!!

I started at a very young age. 17 to be exact. But I was very serious about bodybuilding at the time and wanted to see if I could make it to the teen nationals. Never did. In any event I knew how my body reacted to various styles of training and various eating methods. Make sure you know your body before you go on because that is the only way you can maximize gains. Also be sure that you are serious about bodybuilding or training in general. Once you have trained while on, it is never the same natural.

If you do, I suggest you get complete bloodwork before you start. That way you will have a reference point for PCT.

if i'm not mistaken flex wheeler started taking steroids at 15. i remember a quote about when he was natural. it was something like, "man, i dont know how you guys do it. if i spent two hours everyday in the gym and didnt grow i'd die." now that is a loose quote becuase it's been a few years but it kind of shows that even someone like him might not have all the components of a perfect bb'er because of him starting to juice too early and not properly developing other aspects like training (he's notoriously lazy when lifting), diet, sleep, whatever.

From all the research I've done, 20 seems like a good starting point. Still young, but old enough to do it right.

Like the guys above have already stated:
IMO 20 is not too young, just do ALL your homework, keep a close check on your bloodwork, etc., and you will be fine.

Too late for me to say not to do it.
I'm glad to see you are one here educating yourself. Also glad to see you are going to the Dr's to make sure shit is strait.
We all make mistakes at times.... learning from them is the best you can do after making them!
Good luck at the Dr's!
