Steroid Side-Effects

I've been researching the true side-effects of steroid use for a few weeks now, and it seems impossible to find unbiased information.
Bodybuilding people say theres no danger if you use them correctly.
The anti-drug people say they will cause you to die young, have heart attacks, get cancer, yada yada.

Where can I find good, unbiased information about the side-effects of steroid use?

you cant.. theres the MD's who say its bad.. the MD's who say properly done its not so bad.. theres bodybuilders whove had worst case scenarios.. and theres 60 year old body builders who have been juicing for 20 years and never seen a side effect and are in perfect health

you sound like you want to know before you try. which is good. So keep reading, it takes more than weeks, and you'll need to ask alot of questions to answers you won't find. That's why you post. You'll find that when used in moderation and you have/use proper ancillaries and vitamins/supplements and time off is strictly enforced, you really have little to worry about.

steroids do have side effects, most of them are manageable. Like with any drug some people will get side effects that others dont. Long term use of steroids can have health impacts, though again most of which are either manageable or avoidable. There is also genetic pre-disposition to issues like cholesterol, cardiovascular and cancers that steroids can trigger or exacerbate. Again to a great extent these are also manageable (though somewhat to a lesser extent since the "bad genes" are there- so you are starting in a worse off position).

if you take copious amounts of gear and dont do cardio, eat poorly, dont take ancillilaries or supplements to help deal with raised metabolic values then over time it may be bad for your long term health (especially if you have predispositions). Though for many people even doing everything "wrong", gear use wont significantly change life expectancy or diminish quality of life. its all about the genes.

Anything abused has side effects.Your genes will determine how likely you are to get sides regardless of how smart you take gear.

well put macro!
gettnlarge, if you want ot know specific changes to body function by certina drugs google it............for instance "testosterone affects on lipids" you will find all sorts of abstracts on the subject

I comend you for doing your research, I wish more guys took your approach as opposed to just posting up "I just started my deca/winny cycle, now what?"

Macro said it very well but ask yourself this; "Where are the bodies?" Someone correct me if I am wrong, but have there been any deaths actually linked to the use of steroids? (notice I did not say abuse, but even still) I have not read of any and I have looked.
