Steroid newby needs advice

Okay, take a deep breath, no one's calling no one a dumbass....

You're getting this run around because people on here realize that your first cycle lays the ground work for much of what comes next. They also realize that the first cycle invariably goes wrong. Even when you're well prepared it will go wrong. Part of being well prepared is having trained for more than 2yrs. Ideally one should have a need before choosing to used steroids to make further progress, not a want. Obviously at only 2yr into this you don’t need gear, you can make lots of progress without it. To be honest, after lifting on-and-off (mostly on) for 13yrs and in a dedicated manner for 5yrs I still didn’t need gear to make additional progress, I wanted it. I had finally gotten to the point that I understood my body and training, though. I spent a couple of years reading posts, articles, etc; I was nearly as well educated in the basics as I am today. Still, I made tons of mistakes in that first cycle. I made mistakes that I read about; I made mistakes that I had intentionally prepared to avoid…

Anyhow, advice:


--Like how fat you are now? You will get fatter during the cycle. You MUST eat to gain weight. You must eat LOTS. You must eat carbs to gain weight. Most people will tend to eat poorly when they eat lots. Even if you eat perfectly, and unless you are blessed with great genetics, you will gain fat. Post cycle? You will loose lean mass regardless of what you do and you will gain some fat while hormone levels attempt to balance themselves. This doesn’t apply to all body types, but for the majority of men it's valid.

--Deca can be harsh, the metabolites hang around forever. Inhibition of HPTA can be a real bitch with this one. There’s no miracle recovery process other than time. Age matters, but I’ve seen some really young guys post how they still can’t recover (no erection, no interest in sex, etc) for up to 2yrs. They are permanently on now.

--A rare side with Deca can be prolactin related gyno. Green goop coming out of your nipples is not good, this is real hard to control once it starts. Deca has a weak affinity for the progesterone receptor, this is bad but not a recipe for disaster. The recipe for disaster comes along when these conditions are also met: elevated estrogens, prolactin or IGF-1. Do you best to control the estrogen if using other amortizable gear. Dostinex and Bromo control PRL.

--Test stacks well with Deca.

--Try to keep your TOTAL weekly dosages at or under 500mg for this first cycle. Okay, you won’t…but do keep them below 700mg (400mg Test, 300mg Deca is MUCH more than you need to grow). I can't believe I just suggested a first cycle over 500mg EW. Complete BS...really, if you have the self control to stay in the 400-500mg EW TOTAL range you will do great. A high dose first cycle is the primary newbi mistake. Most of us don't need those dosages even after several cycles.

--Think through the post cycle. It isn’t all that much fun. Try running some modest amount of HCG through the whole cycle or at least the last half, 500iu 2xEW is fine.

bro i would only run one substance first cycle so you could see jow you react most people would have tried test over deca,300 mg weeks deca shoukd give nice gains,do more research before starting its seems like you may nees more knowledgebefore starting iam not calling you a dumbass just that you are asking basic questions .i would also make sure you have a sloid pct planned good luck
 
I ran Deca at 400ml/wk @ 10wks 1st cycle, great results, did have loss of sex drive but Cabaser is out now which takes the only side I had out of the picture.

My first cycle, not that long back, was just straight for 6-8weeks Test Prop, I thought it was great I trained right and after PCT I kept about 18lbs vast majority muscle! Thats what I would recomend. As well if you are needle shy, which I was not so much shy as terrified. You sure as hell won't be after 8 weeks of prop!!! :evil:
 
Alot of good info on here, but your going to have to experiment to see what works best for you. Peoples bodies respond different. What works well for me may not work as well for you and vice versa. Try the deca, i'd throw in a little test and see what happens. Good Luck!
