Steriods in the Military??

It's not DOD, but it's still a branch. :faint:

Yeah definitly still a branch of the military. Most people laugh at the cost guard but I've got a ton of respect for them. What they do isn't easy. I have a hard enough time passing swim qual..

Ok so I just talked to a recruiter today and I am thinking juicing while serving is going to be out of the question. They said that they have weight limits.... When I asked him about it he brought out a book and let me know were I stood. He said the max that someone at 6'4 with a 7" wrist can weigh 220!!! I was shocked!!! This is not very big. He said if I can pass as 6'5 then I can weigh a max of 226. This is still light for what I wanna be. Right now I am off juice and am about 6'5 225. Then I looked at the chart..... If I have bigger wrists then I am able to weigh more.
I just thought that this is strange... You are telling me that if I can perform my job and tasks perfectly while being a big guy but over their limit, they aren't going to let me in? Are you kidding? Oh and they said they do weight tests every 6 months.

you'll get tested at MEPS, and the only time you'll be tested (for steroids) again is if something steroid related comes up. 1/2 of the guys on my unit were tested.. i think someone got into some trouble, and in an effort to get themselves out of trouble, decided to tattle.

Ok so say I get away with it.... What happens when I am over the weight limit anyway? I am looking to be about 240lbs at 6'5. This will be about 20 lbs heaver then their limit. Do they discharge me or something?

Bro, as I've told you before, I'm an actice duty CG rescue swimmer. Those weight standards are just guidelines to keep your average Coastie from becoming a fat-ass. If you're above their generic weight standards (which I am...), they simply do a bodyfat analysis. There are plenty of big, muscular guys in the CG. Recruiters are morons...you'll be fine.

You should be getting a waiver.

Yeah you really shouldn't have a problem. In the Marine Corps atleast that is. If you are over the weight limits then they do a body fat test (an incredibly inaccurate one, but still a bodyfat test). If you are under 18% you're fine reguardless of the PFT you run. If you are over 18% then you need to have a 1st class PFT. Basically as long as you're fit, and can complete your service's physical fitness test then you're fine.
