Sterilize vial technique question, new idea thats sanitary?

okay well, i was just wondering if you droped some rubbing alcohol on the top of the vial and let it sit for a few mins and then light the alcohol with a lighter to burn off the remaining if this would be sanitary or not? i know in order for the alcohol to actually "kill" the bacteria it has to sit for a few mins, so if i did this then let it burn off the rest of the way would this be a little more sanitary? just wondering, thanks!

so you already did this? I just look at it like this: if you are wiping it with an alcohol pad you are more tahn likely good to go. People have been doing the wipe method for years in the medical field.

I think it was genarr3 that pointed out that the medical community has since learned that wiping with alcohol does nothing to kill the bacteria that are on the top of the vial. So no rubbing is going to make a difference. Fire maybe, but come on, that seems a bit over the top. I have been doing the alcohol wipe thing for injections for years, I dont believe it has done me wrong.
