Starting/Opening a Club

Say i was interested in opening up my own club one day. How much capital do you think it would cost. I figure atleast $250,000.00 for the liquor license and a bunch of other things.

Does anyone else know what other kinda effort and money is needed to open up such a thing?

well, you will need the initial money to rent out the building, decorate, electricity, ect.. you will also need initial money to fully stock the bar, and hire the initial dj's/performers...

You will first need to arrange for "protection."

If you do not have that set-up, then your club will be shut down in a matter of weeks.

lol protection is the least of our worries. We know people. Someone we know had the idea of renovating an older roller skating place. Turn the big skate part into a giant dance floor. Sound system wiring and lights are already there so they only need to be updated. The guy interested in this is into construction and will build most of it all himself. The giant bar would go right in the middle of the dance floor and we'd have some local cops work part time as security.

I figure $250,000 for alc license.
$20,000/month lease
$30,000 repairs/upgrades
$20,000 alcohol

It would be on a major highway where there really isnt any clubs around. Hoboken is the closest and thats like 15 min away.

You could buy a lot and build a building cheaper I would think!

Seems like a lot of money to lease. Let them make the needed repairs and upgrades for that kind of money.
