Stabilizer In Peanut Butter?

Rex

New member
I recently bought some natural peanut butter. After reviewing the content label when making a sandwich I noticed it said no stabilizers added. What the hell is it? I know what it does, but the natural peanut butter was amazing in taste. Is it the stabilizer that makes the difference?

it keeps it fresh and stops the oil and peanut butter from separating. Thats why there is usually a bunch of oil at the top of your container.

yes it does make the consistency different, there fore there is oil separation but the main reason i get the anpb is bc there are no hydrogenated oils added. they are plain old saturated fat.

Ya normal peanut butter hydrogenates the oil so it stays solid at room temperature so it looks better and spreads better.

With natural peanut butter you need to stir it up real good and refrigerate it so there isn't oil seperation.

However, hydrogenated oil is terrible for you.

I wish I had a paintcan shaker/mixer for my jars of natty peanut butter =)
