I'm already eyeball-fucking this car. I saw a cream-coloered one on the way to work yesterday. Aside from painting that hoss mofo of a car CREAM being a travesty, it still looked pretty cool. I might even be able to fit a power rack in the back so I can set that up in the median and do squats instead of deads. I'd make sure the guy saw me throw the safety pins away so that he'd know that ass to the floor was gonna hit him correctly. I can't really squat 335 for reps though -p-p-p-pussy: Maybe 1-2 at most.

hey, yuppies eat that shit up. just like how every household in america HAS to own an SUV or a pickup. just a status symbol, that's all. pointless for over half the people that own them. why does my girlfriend's mother NEED a 03 4 door exploder? so she can LOOK cool. do they haul ANYTHING with it? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!

mr db - the funny thing is, the V6 ones will have a hard time outrunning me in my girlfriends 96 civic DX. was running with a V6 mustang a week or two ago. we went from about 80 to 105 or 110 and while i couldn't pass him, i remained 2 car lengths behind him the entire time. pretty sad actually considering that car has almost twice the engine and doesn't weigh much more.

the civic is NOT riced in any way, shape, or form. i had a "fender bender" in that car shortly after we bought it (ok, a nasty accident). when i replaced the headlights, it was cheaper to get used aftermaket JDM headlights than it was to buy ONE new OEM light. other than that i slapped a Flowmaster muffler on it (NOT with a tip) because where the stock pipe went into the muffler in the IN side, it was rusted to shit and the muffler was rusting around that area as well. had to replace it, and it was either $110 for flowmaster or over $200 for OEM.

chewy - it comes with 18" rims. that'll make it a LOT easier to ghetto out immediately.

The Civic's a lot lighter than you think. Maybe 2400 or so, depending on how old it is.

it's a 96. like i said, i'll check the panel inside the door when she gets home tonight and see. i had an 85 hatch back and i wanna say it came in over 2500lbs, but i can't remember anymore. i had that car 7 years ago. lil 1.5L with a 5 speed (4spd trans was blown when i got it, the shop dropped a 5spd in it for me). i got that little piece of shit up to 110 twice. got clocked by a cop going over 95 in it another time. i was doing 100 when i saw the cop sitting off the side of the road. i nailed the brakes and the wheel started shaking, so i said fuck it, i'm completely screwed.

thank you military ID. got away with a written warning. posted speed limit on that highway was 55

The '85 could have come in at an even ton or less. I had an '86 CRX Si, and it was about 1800-1900 or so. I have a '91 CRX Si now, and it's around 2100; the regular Civics with back seats aren't THAT much heavier. A '96 DX should be at 2400 or a shade less.
